As the sign says it's a "city within a park". Has a little bit of everything: a place for kids to play on swings, a basketball court, places to sit, street art, and two cute examples of trees that are "yarn bombed". Dogs are allowed. But pay attention to the signs, because they can only be in certain areas.

It's a long (but narrow) park that stretches from St Lawrence's Market all the way to the Distillery District. Here you'll find basketball courts, playgrounds, some nice exhibits and great places to just sit down and enjoy the best thing this neighborhood has to offer: its amazing people!

My neighbourhood. This little piece of beauty had kept kids and adults out of trouble playing basketball. Evey after it was destroyed by a police vehicle chasing bad guys, the cops fixed it up so that everyone could continue to play.

Incorporating certain flags from specific countries into public art in a diverse neighborhood can be problematic for several reasons: Symbolism and Historical Context: Flags carry powerful symbolism and historical weight. Displaying a flag associated with oppression, conflict, or human rights abuses can be deeply insensitive and cause significant pain to individuals and communities who have experienced those injustices. Representation and Inclusivity: A diverse neighborhood likely comprises people from a wide array of cultural and national backgrounds. Choosing certain flags over others can inadvertently signal favoritism or exclusion, leading to feelings of marginalization and resentment among those whose identities are not represented. Potential for Misinterpretation: Public art is open to interpretation. Even well-intentioned displays of certain flags can be misconstrued as endorsements of harmful ideologies or actions associated with those flags. Community Engagement: Public art should ideally reflect and engage with the community it's placed in. Failing to consider the diverse perspectives within a neighborhood can lead to a work that alienates rather than unifies. It's important to consult with the community and carefully consider the potential impact of any flag chosen for public display. Alternative approaches that promote inclusivity and avoid potential harm might...

Our go to dogpark, nice community, people and puppies. That being said the park itself could use some love, it turns into a bit of a mud pit over winter/fall and there is no fencing (outside of for the baseball diamond). Overall a decent place to bring your dog if they recall well and it's nearby.

This park is planned to be rejuvenated in the future along with the rest of the esplanade, I believe it will include a fenced in dog park...

We were with a few friends from out of town and we were making our way to the distillery. I told them how beautiful this park and that they may want a take a picture. If you go to the basketball court, there is a beautiful painting on both sides of the wall. They were very pleased. We took one photo of the mural and another picture of the CN Tower in the background. #toronto #whatonwhatsgood...
