Kennedy Bowl — Attraction in Toronto

I went today as a group of 3 and we weren't impressed. We had a bad experience with one of the staff. He's seen behind the desk in a black Nike pullover sweater with black hair and looks somewhat middle eastern, light skin and bearded in the photo on here. (NOT the one with the black hat) It was Saturday January 13, 2019 at 09:30 PM.

So my bowling ball got stuck in the gutter and, agreeably, I made the mistake of walking down the lane and taking it out. After I retrieved the ball the staff member approached me and said:

Staff Member: (rude voice) "DO THAT AGAIN AND I'M STOPPING YOUR GAME." Me: "Sorry I was just getting the ball I didn't mean any harm." Staff Member: (rude voice) "I DON'T CARE! DO IT AGAIN, AND I'M STOPPING YOUR GAME." My friend: "Sorry we didn't know." Staff Member: (rude voice) "CAN'T YOU READ? THERE'S A SIGN."

Then he left and honestly we couldn't find the sign he was talking about until much later after he left because it's very dark inside the bowling alley, and the sign is not lit. So to put it short, no I couldn't read it. I understand his point and I agree he is right but he was just a plain jerk, rude, and has a lack of customer service.

Aside from that the place is very dated. From the outside it looks super sketchy. Walking in looks like the stairs going to a subway and there's many damages along the way and smells like urine. The alley smells old as soon as you walk in. Party room looks old fashioned like mostly everything else. Men's washroom was dirty. The alley is really dark inside compared to other bowling alleys and I feel like this may have effected our game. Balls are damaged and many people were even trading balls among the different lanes because they didn't have good balls. The machine collecting the pins wasn't doing a great job (3 times we didn't begin a game with 10 pins as should be). The computer didn't always count the points correctly (missing 1-3 points on 2 occasions). There is no wheel chair access, no elevator. All that being said it was very busy, though this was on a Saturday night.

Overall: Disappointing customer service, outdated facility. Not well maintained. We won't...

If I can only give this place zero star I would… I hope this review will be enough to warn people to stay away from this place. We were supposed to have our gathering at this place, and since they assured us that no reservations are needed, we just went there as planned. Note that we called them weeks ago and even continued to communicate with them via email and calls. However, zero effort were given to reply to emails or even answer our calls after our initial communication. When we got there, we said we would get 3 lanes and play for atleast 2 rounds which would take approximately 2 hours. As we were gathering our people, one of the incredibly rude staff came and said we only can play for an hour as someone has booked the entire area for an event. How was this not communicated to us before or even when we first arrived? We had a few minutes to gather people and none of this was mentioned. When I spoke to the guy he just dismissed me saying he can’t do anything and if I have questions I can just email them. As if they even answer emails! Anyway we left and played somewhere else. And since we are a big group, that meant we have to quickly find an alternative and plan transportation etc. Also the place is smelly, dirty, dark and...

Terrible customer service. Serious double standards. Manager has terrible attitude. We were group of 5 who went to this place on Mar 17 2018, we got our Lane at 10.16pm as per bill. But the lane assigned was crowded by other lane group, so I requested the line member for a lane change he spoke to his manager and I spoke to him directly he asked us to wait for 14 min as lane beside would be available. After time, I went back to manager to help us assign lane requested he said we have to pay extra $53 later on clarifying we were same people who he asked to wait for 14 min he did assign the lane with no extra charge. We started our first ball at 10.35pm, but shockingly by 11pm we saw a screen saying 14 min left. When I went to the manager he said the data is recorded automatically and it doesn't lie. I asked him to check when was our first ball he confirmed it was at 10.14pm which is BS as 10.16pm was our billing time. Manager was rude and said our time was up.

Stay away from this place they do cheat on their times.
