I go to this restaurant pretty often, but today I got quite upset. They are scamming their customers to pay more.
I went today and ordered a chilli chicken and a chicken fried rice. There was a price inflation of $6 just from last week when I ordered these same items. The server failed to tell me about this when ordering.
Also, when I normally order, there is an offer for 10% off when you pay with cash. Today as I was about to do this, the server told me that the total must be over $30 for this discount to apply. Once again, she failed to mention this as I was ordering.
But what frustrated me the most about this experience was that she charged $0.25 per item to make it spicy. I have never been charged extra for asking for my food to be made spicy in any restaurant. This is a scam. The worst part is unless you thoroughly check your receipt, you wouldn’t have noticed it. Again, she failed to inform this to me.
I understand that restaurants must change prices to keep up, but the fault here is their lack of transparency. I wasn’t told anything till it was time to pay, and as I was going by the prices on their printed menu, there was no way for me to have known about these charges either.
Due to this, I do not recommend you go to a restaurant that does not offer full transparency to their customers. For sure, they have lost a long-time...
Read moreThe food here is not bad, not the greatest but better than others in the area. However the owner is lying scum. I have been here several times and ordered with with the waitress who is a sweet and kind woman. Today the owner took my order and brought chicken instead of the fish i ordered. I proceeded to tell the waitress this is not what i ordered, i told her i would keep the chicken if its a problem. My bf ordered a coke before she left, she returned with the Coke and said yes my boss did say you ordered the fish. She then said that her boss said I can have the Coke free for the mistake. That immediately fired me up because why not bring my fish instead? I told her no I'd like to speak to the owner please. This is where I think i lost my mind, the owner then proceeded to say you did not order the fish you ordered chicken! Ofcourse i had to put him in his place because i know the sweet waitress was not lying. He then called her over and spoke in their language and the waitress did not lie. He then said "so what you want to change it?" I said sure or take it off my bill. Needless to say he brought the fish. I will never give that owner my money again. How dare you say Im lying then blame it on the waitress. You're a coward and i feel sorry for...
Read moreLess cornstarch compared to others, which I like.
Kim Kim has some notable competitors within the area, compared to those I would say Kim Kim has more indo flavor, which I personally don't mind.
Place is clean, condiments tray is clean, restroom is clean, good place to dine in. Staff and the kitchen are efficient and fast. Menu is straightforward, lunch special for the price is a win win.
Chili Chicken - Has a different taste compared to others, a bit of a sweeter taste. Overall not my top pick.
Manchurian Chicken - Not your typical, with an overdose of red food coloring. Fried breaded chicken, with garlic and onions. Add some chili paste, good stuff.
Masala Chicken - Same chicken with the addition of some veggies in masala sauce, with the white rice good stuff.
General Tao - good mix of sweet sour spicy. Def one of the top 3 for me.
Chicken Pakora - Good side dish, add that chili paste.
Overall I like this place, and I go on a regular. Personally I feel there is less use of cornstarch, resulting in less to no itis after eating. Food is flavorful, environment is nice, prices are good. Overall would...
