It was our first time to hang around Broadview after watching the sunset at Riverdale East Park and were looking for a ramen place to eat at and luckily stumbled upon this gem. It is situated at 354 Broadview (East Chinatown) along with several other asian restaurants. It was a Saturday evening and the place was packed. The wait time to get a seat was around 10-15 minutes and the food itself, a good 15 minutes. A bit long but I say it was certainly worth every second we waited. We ordered: Shio Ramen - 10/10 such a hearty meal to have after a long day! I especially loved the pork which was so soft and flavorful!!❣️😭 Shoyu Ramen - 10/10 husband finished it in no time and was left speechless 😶 Oji Lite Ramen - 10/10 my kid had this and exclaimed how tasty it was upon sipping the soup 🍜 Pork Gyoza - 10/10 i have no words! Chicken Katsu Sandy - 10/10 Nori Fries - 10/10 please believe me when i say this is one of the best fries I’ve ever had Godspeed Iced Tea - this one is kinda pricey at $6.5 but nonetheless was good as i love anything w/ green tea. It is like a sparkling green tea soda w a hint of citrus The service was great - upon entering I headed straight to the reception area and listed my name on the list, the lady was nice and said we will be called (we waited outside). The other lady who took our order was energetic and attentive so no problem really when it comes to service. ❤️ To wrap it up, as they say, you know you had a great time when you forget to take tons of pictures (still managed to snap a few 😜) and so on that note, highly recommend this place!!

Had high hopes for this ramen place, but it wasn’t for me. Tried coming here twice before but it never seemed to be open when I tried. I finally was able to go with my parents recently but was disappointed with the food. The restaurant itself is cute, but fairly small so seating is limited even late into the afternoon. We sat at a bar area but they let us move when a table opened up. We each ordered a ramen, I ordered the sweet corn mazemen, my parents ordered a shoyu and a shio. We also ordered assorted tempura. The tempura came first. It was alright. Wasn’t bad, wasn’t stellar. My corn ramen was broth less but it was pretty tasty, though I found the portion a little small for $23. Both my parents ramens were super bland. I’ve read a lot of previous comments here complimenting how clear and light the broth is here but…like…it’s just bland. Maybe I just don’t get it. The broth also wasn’t even hot? The meat didn’t really taste like anything either. The noodles they use here also weren’t my favourite but perhaps that personal preference. The portions again weren’t generous and I feel like you’d be a lot more satisfied at any number of other ramen places in the city and would cost less.

Heard about this place when it opened in June 2021 so wanted to check it out. Did not disappoint. Spaced out tables inside and brightly lit interior. Outside patio tables along the road is a cool experience when the streetcars go by. Went for both the shio (salt) ramen as well as the shoyu (soy sauce) ramen. Broth was flavourful with a light taste of clams - more noticeable in the shio. Overall shio had a tasty light broth as you could see the spinach green up the bottom. Shoyu wasn't a strong taste either and complimented the mild clam broth. Not as strong a clam taste as other restaurants' broth. Noodles were well done - firm and chewy, like soba actually, so not springy or curly as with other places. Some might say it is on the pricey side, but with the noodles made in-house, I would say it is worth an experience for your taste buds. Service was awesomely snappy - second bowl of noodles came when I was ready for it, and it was piping hot. My first time trying the Yuzu beer (brewed locally at Godspeed Brewery) was great - what a light and refreshing beer. Overall a great atmosphere and delicious ramen take in the city.

Oji Seichi is East Chinatown's newest ramen spot highlighting Tokyo/Takayama ramen. Located steps away from the intersection of Gerrard and Broadview, the restaurant is named after the owner's uncle, Oji Seichi. The business focuses on sharing their family traditions with quality ingredients that is community focused. Oji Seishi opened in late June where it is currently in a soft opening phase. Due to pandemic restrictions, they are take out only. from Wed to Sun The space inside and that floor mosaic is pretty neat too.

I had been following Oji Seishi on Instagram for a while and also subscribed to them via email for updates regarding their opening date. After receiving the email that they would be soft opening on June 19th where I had early access to preorder takeout I jumped at the chance. I preordered a classic shio ramen, gyoza, and shrimp sando for pickup on their opening day. The prices compared to other ramen shops in the city is a bit on the higher side.

Pickup day of was a bit slower than normal as I am sure, as a new business, they are trying to work out the flow of things. Either way, I was surprised that I was given a pack of free fresh noodles as I was one of their first 100 customers.

Food wise, for the ramen, I opted to have uncooked noodles so that I could cook the noodles at home. The soup and ramen toppings came in separate containers. The shio ramen itself was delicious! The freshly made ramen noodles had great texture/bounce and was easy to slurp. The broth was beyond delicious. Using a mix of pork, chicken, and seafood, the broth had good umami and I almost drank all of it. The gyoza were cooked great but of course would have been better if they were eaten after they were freshly cooked. The shrimp burger definitely had a lot of shrimp flavour as they use a shrimp patty (instead of having a deep fried or coated shrimp patty). The flavour of the shrimp comes out strong and the buns they use don't go soggy.

Overall great new ramen spot in East Chinatown! Definitely order take out from them but hope to dine in once it's...

We are regulars here since Oji Seichis first opened. Winter and summer menus ( more broth based in the winter) are small in choices but they accommodate omissions and additional items as requested. Seaweed salad is delicious and the gyoza are recommended. However, as they cook them from scratch (with the delicious batter holding them together) - order them first so they don’t arrive mid main course. I am not an expert on what makes a good broth or noodles. But I do know my partner and I love the food and prefer a shorter menu done well. Small but well curated drinks list with usual lagers but local IPAs from Godspeed too - a local microbrewery. The soft serve is delicious with the salted caramel being my favourite topping. Staff are great, friendly and knowledgeable. They remember you, know the menu and make it more sociable. If you are in a rush to eat, AND it’s busy - you may get frustrated ! The strength of Oji Seichi is it is a family run business and it has a great community feel. Very friendly with chat between tables, and it really feels like a one big group having fun.(albeit at different tables) We also did the special Filipino evening last night - with a fish set menu/ tasting me ur of 8 courses including oysters, scallop, octopus, shrimp and more seafood but only advertised on social media and booked (and sold out) in advance)

We like this place a lot and it’s our number one choice for a local place to eat. Usually walk-in and they always find us a space. They do takeout too. The combination of the food and the staff brings us back on a regular basis and yet to have a bad experience....
