I usually do online Sephora shopping but I really wanted to test out foundation shades and highlighters before buying it so I walked into the Sephora in STC after many years. Now, where do I start?!
I used to shop in this store when it first opened years ago and the experience was very different. The store ofcourse wasn't as busy before but I remember the staff being much older and professional. The customer service was also very good with the one on one help. The only con was it was much more "salesy" at that time.
Comparing that experience to Now, was totally different. This is a very very busy Sephora. Keep that in mind. I was surprised at how crowded it was on a random weekday afternoon.
Not much help. Every staff seem to be occupied or tucked away in their own isle. I had to search for staff to help me. Testers were not easily available which surprised me. I had to ask specifically for a tester and some testers were hidden in the bottom drawers. Why?? For two products I wanted to test, the staff pulled the bottom drawer and took testers out.
I asked for a specific foundation shade. The staff member gave the tester to me. I tested it...applied it on my face, blended it, loved it. I went back to the same staff member and told her okay I will get it. She stares blankly at me and says we don't have that color in stock. What?!. Sooo why didn't u mention that before?!
I couldn't really get staff to help me so I had to ask a cashier who seemed avaliable on some info. She was very nice and again gave me another "hidden" tester to try it out. I needed more helping picking out a new product so she spoke on the microphone for someone to help me.
This very perky happy staff comes along to help me. She shows me this new product and talks positively. All is going well. I use the product on my hand and I told her I m so confused whether I should choose this one or the other brand. She suddenly looks distracted and literally tells me ...okay so r u done with me ? I was very taken back by this comment. Does she have a train to catch?? So I just thanked her for her help and she ran off. Lolll.
Also, if you suspect ppl are stealing...why make it look so obvious. Lol. I was standing in line to cash out. Then I quickly changed my mind and started checking out the products in the line leading up to the cashier. Next thing u know, I see a security guard rushing towards me, literally breathing down my neck and picking up/looking at products right next to me. Okay then!! Weird!!
Now sadly I didn't get the nice cashier. I got the mean one. She looked like she was doing me a favor by cashing me out. Ofcourse, she didn't put samples in. I asked her can I please get some samples. She then reached out rudely dumped something in my bag. Keep in mind I spend almost $200...i looked in the bag and there are only 2 samples.
Anyway, What a bizzare experience. The next Sephora retailer is almost 30 mins away and I hate that I have to most likely avoid this place especially because I have a VIP status and qualify for a free makeup session. I can't even imagine these clowns giving...

If you want a racist experience just for breathing and entering the store come to this location.
5’2 foot employee long straight bushy knee length hair wears glasses who seems to be Tamil/Sri Lankan, gave a highly unprofessional racist experience in this store oh and she said shes a manager.
So if the manager is behaving this way how are they training their other employees hmm to be racists it seems as per below reviews as well Im not the only one with this experience.
She followed me around the store and when I go to pay she came up to me yelling to show her where I put things I didnt want to purchase. You were following me around the entire store like a stalker and you missed where items I didnt want were put? Make it make sense! You didnt follow anyone else at all in the store, if this is normal behaviour at Sephora where was everyone else's stalker employee following them around the store? Hmmm
Told Sephora customer care while crying in store as well as when I left items in the store that as I was going to purchase as they ruined my whole day and customer experience.
Sephora customer service also agreed this is not what they stand for, another manager at this location initially said this behaviour is wrong and that employee is not a manager, yet in the end the this manager changed her mind and said their employee did nothing wrong.
So they lied about their position in the company, didnt wear their name tag conveniently that day because they know what their doing is wrong, and then they find nothing wrong with racially profiling and following customers in the store. Absolutely disgusting Sephora this is completely against your own mission statement

Your mission to hire and keep racist employees and then claim nothing was wrong in your employee behaviour in the end. Thats what is happening in reality at this location and should never have this needs to change immediately! I dont feel like I belong in your racist store with your racist employees who have zero accountability I do not feel welcomed in fact the whole experience made me never want to shop in this Sephora or any other Sephora ever again! I have rouge status for decades all my hard earned money spent at your racist store and regardless of any sephora member level THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO TREAT CUSTOMER YET ALONE ANY HUMAN! Get your act together Sephora Scarborough Town Centre!

I was totally shocked how racism drive ppl crazy like that..! I simply ask for full make up service, but I find other customer came and I ask her politely if I can leave and come back to start she said okey but when I came back I find her will start on other customer that came after me , I ask politely that customer if she can let me start bcz i have party this evening and I was already late , she refuse politely and I was standing there trying to figure out if I will stay there wait again or leave , I was surprised by Tom and MRAMOLDAR both coming asking me to leave or they will call security for me ! ( exactly at 4.50pm) 10 years I was coming to this location I always have my make up done here for many occasions is this how Sephora educate her team to deal with customers? The make up artist was giving me attitude and talk with r me rudely without looking at my face ,since I came and she was asking me to be far and don’t touch the chair very rudely ( my hand was barely on top of it while I was still talking to her ) and she call them when she asked me to stand far ! who knows what she said that make them kick me out from store without hesitation ! Very disgusting and racist , Later on I called the store asking to talk with the manager , MRAMOLDAR ( I’m not sure of her name bcz she was not having badge)was mocking me and laughing as some worker prestend her as a manager, even though I already mention that I want to speak only with the manager of this location she said we have many managers , many managers and the customer services is 0 zero , hope Sephora find one good manager with manners who respect all customers with all ethnics groups and religions . The make up artist did not catch her name , she was dark skinned with curly hair , the Customer who was before me had blue outfit in case u checked the camera, Marmodlar , have very bad attitude while talking to me with rude smile she did not explain any reason why I have to leave the store and when I ask why bcz I was surprised 😮 she told me u was disrespectful to the makeup artist and customer, which is not true , even she was rude I went far and I stand trying to digest what she did I meet Tom and the other asking me to leave ! this racist disgusting behaviour and unfair , really affect my mood for the whole day , this will be last time coming to this...
