St. Andrew's Playground Dog Park — Attraction in Toronto

The park itself is great. The turf is amazing at minimizing the sand / dirt / wood chips that would follow our dogs home from other dog parks. It does smell in the warmer months. Garbage and recycling bins are on site for any human waste (coffee cups and such) and green bins are available for dog waste. They're located at both entrances to the park. There are no restrooms on site.

Because of the parks overall attractiveness however, this park is very high traffic and insanely busy during peak hours. Many poorly trained dogs, and many poorly educated owners. I personally don't go here during peak hours due to issues with other dogs and owners alike. The phrase "use at your own risk"...

I’ve never felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome at this dog park. The place is overrun with poorly behaved dogs and even worse-behaved owners. The people here act like they own the space—rude, arrogant, and completely unreasonable. They form their little cliques and look down on anyone new, ready to gang up and bully you the moment you or your dog do something they don't like. I have heard about a number of cases where puppies have been attacked in this park and today I experienced it myself immediately as I entered the park. The owner of the brown, short-haired dog who attacked us sat about 50 feet away on his phone hardly paying any attention to his dog.
