Great place, very clean and friendly staff. It has a unique layout where you’re able to stand over Whole foods and just people watch. So here is the part of the review where I tell a true and very personal experience as I do with every review I make. A couple years ago I took my wife for a shopping spree on Bloor street. We came all the way from ghetto Hamilton on bus which is about two and a half hours away. We both grabbed Timmies for breakfast since it was going to be a long journey, so early in the morning and… well that was a mistake. After shopping for hours in the hot June heat my wife suggested we pick up something quick to eat at Whole Foods (since it’s nostalgic for her because she practically lived off the sushi when she went to Sheraton College years ago). We managed to stumble upon this place thanks to Google maps. We sat down to have our sushi lunch and get out of the heat when suddenly my wife’s stomach started hurting. She made it to the bathroom just in time. I held down our table (I think it was across or near Bois & Cuir and I think near a toy or hobby store?) for what felt like hours. Me, having ADHD wandered off to the balcony area where you can look over Whole Foods and peacefully people watched which was lovely. I managed to get back to my seat with my wife waiting there for me, understanding that I was just looking around. Unfortunately it wasn’t long until she had to rush to the bathroom again. This time I stayed put and waited. I waited so long that the custodian seemingly kept passing by making sure I was OK or I wasn’t up to no good, which in my mind is totally acceptable due to how long I was there. It probably looks suspicious. Or maybe i’m just paranoid and he’s keeping the place nice and clean just like the whole shopping centre was. After what seemed like an eternity my wife was OK to go. We plan on taking the bus back that day, but we opted out to get an Uber due to the circumstances, which cost us around $120. So, sorry about whatever hellish state the ladies washroom was left in that day. The moral of my nonsensical rambling is never trust a Tim Hortons in...
Read moreMy experience at HLDG would have been very positive were it not for my initial consultation. I was looking for a dentist for a tooth extraction and implant and found HLDG because they advertised a "free consultation." I had already been to three previous dentists (one initially who wanted to extract immediately, a second who referred me to an endodontist for a root amputation, and the endodontist who was unsuccessful in the root amputation. Not needing a consultation per se but wanting to meet to discuss the procedure, I booked an appointment. I was told mostly what I had been told by the other dentists but whatever... I underwent MORE x-rays but resigned myself to the dentists expertise. We agreed to move forward so I went to pay for the x-rays only to discover I was being charged for the consultation(?). I told the receptionist there must be a mistake but she said it was because the consultation was "more in depth." I asked why didn't someone say to me, "If you want more information, there will be an additional charge" ? I insisted that with the amount of money I was spending on the procedure and the advertised "FREE CONSULTATION" this charged should be removed, But it wasn't. I have been unemployed for some time and this extra fee was not expected given the amount I had and would have to pay. I am now seeking another dentist and find this $100 extra charge unethical given the clear message on the website. The point of a free consultation is to get new business -- which they did. And yet they still charged me. I spoke with the receptionist a week ago and she said I would get the $100 as a credit AFTER I COMPLETED THE REST OF THE TREATMENT! In other words, yea we owe you but we want you to spend more money with us first. I told her that was unacceptable and she said she wold talk to my dentist and get back to me. She hasn't, hence this review and my seeking a new dentist to complete the work. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL...
