An absolutely beautiful park, at least what I was able to see of it within the 10 minutes I was there. I would give a high rating if my visit wasn’t cut short by an angry little man in a polo and cargo shorts. My wife and I had our cat in a fully enclosed carrier listening to the tour guide when he (his name is Doug) came to us stating “this is a museum there are no animals allowed” he offered us a refund, he was incredibly loud and rude about it but we were willing to let it go until he followed us to the exit continuing to berate and condescend us. When I told him he could stop and we were already at the exit trying to speak to the person who checked us out (we couldn’t even hear her, this guy was so loud) he began to glitch shouting at me “What, am I causing you violence” x3 I was able to establish dominance and the little man scurried away. I later found on the website that licensed animal are in fact allowed. Which is funny cause Doug didn’t even ask and my cat is licensed. To conclude, Doug is an issue and y’all should solve that. He’s super...

Sun Yat-Sen Park is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of a bustling city. As someone who enjoys exploring green spaces and historical sites, I was pleasantly surprised by the serene ambiance and rich cultural significance of this park.Upon entering the park, you're immediately struck by the lush vegetation, well-maintained paths, and tranquil ponds. It's an oasis of calm in the midst of urban chaos, making it a perfect escape for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat. The carefully curated garden areas showcase a wide variety of plants and flowers, providing a burst of colors and aromas that change...

Lovely park, very serene, but while I was there, a loud group of teenagers were loitering around the pagoda, smoking weed, causing somewhat of a nuisance in the otherwise beautiful park. I also had an unusual encounter with the gift shop clerk: the door was wide open without any workers so I perused the shop till I decided on some stickers. I awkwardly ask to pay for them when I could have just walked out with them, and the clerk told me credit card only. I had the exact amount of cash to pay, but since I didn’t have card the clerk rudely tells me to leave since they were closed.

Gem of a garden in Chinatown. A definite must-see when in Vancouver. I finally visited after being a Vancouver resident for many years because of the special event for Mid-Autumn Festival happening there. The volunteers were knowledgeable and kind, prices to enter are fairly affordable as well. Beautiful architecture and well-cared for garden. Lots of cultural history here as well! Parking nearby is tricky, there’s some paid street parking and a paid parkade but it’s all a bit sketchy. If possible, would recommend taking transit here instead.

Super chill place. Very calming. $16 for an adult entrance isn't bad. Staff are really knowledgeable. Complimentary Chinese tea on every wall through. Neat garden located in the heart of the Vancouver downtown east side. You'll most likely have some encounter or run in with the homeless community in the area, so go during the day, go with friends or family, and don't leave anything exposed in your vehicle when you park.
