Visiting Vancouver and decided on Mexican for supper on a Friday evening. Upon arrival the place was packed. A server kindly wrote our names on a paper by the door and told us to come back in approximately 45 mins. They do not take reservations. When we returned our names were scratched off and there were even more people waiting for a table. After speaking with her she gave us the next available table. (Suggest one waits there instead of wandering about). Restaurant is tiny inside neatly decorated, a large TV was playing a soccer game. Mexican music was playing in the background but the noise level from people talking was so loud you couldn’t hear the person across the table from you unless they yelled. Service was prompt and pleasant as many guests were lined up outside waiting to get in. Ordered the Chile Relleno and other two friends had the 4 tacos for $11.00 deal. Food was amazing and it was nice that you could mix up the type of tacos you got. Also had the Sangria which was loaded with diced apples and other fruit. One of the best Sangrias I’ve had. Only downside was the acoustics and the fact that you couldn’t leisurely hang around to chat as people outside were waiting for your table.

After what felt like ages without a dinner date with my son, I let him take the wheel on food choices. Naturally, he steered us straight to his favorite: Mexican food! This place is right in the heart of downtown, and let me tell you—the glowing reviews were spot on. My son declared these the best tacos he’s ever had (which, coming from him, is basically a Michelin star). My flautas? Crispy, flavorful, and downright addictive. The service was top-notch too. But if I had to nitpick, it would be the outrageously expensive Coke—$4.50 for a soda?! I was too busy enjoying the reasonably priced food to notice until the bill gave me a mild heart attack. Oh, and we weren’t dining alone. We had a surprise dinner guest—a very persistent little fly who clearly had a taste for fine Mexican cuisine. Not a complaint, just an unexpected addition to our party!

First time there on weekday afternoon, 3 tables and 3 more arrived. I ordered the: Torta de Milanesa, a Tortilla soup and Horchata so: - Flavor was pretty really authentic, the bread wich was actual BOLILLO like in Mexico, the torta has everything cheese, avocato, mayo 😍 mouth watering if you miss mexican food, Sopa de Tortilla also good, like it taste just like in any restaurant in Mexico, obv not likw homemade but really good, Horchata was yummy but it need little more cold - Portions: Torta small, Horchata little, soup good - Price: Well yes it felt overprice for some dishes because the portions and the use of can ingredients (wish are difficilt to find here but still) - Kitchen: pretty fast - Service: Not so attentive or willingful with me, other tablea were offered more options and a gentile treat

Have been in the area a couple of days and for Mexican food in Vancouver this is the best place. First of all there is pay to park down the street which is very convenient compared to other Mexican eateries where there is no parking. 2nd, this place is on Granville and the views and location is beautiful. 3rd, the food is ok the salsas where more a dressing blend but I can understand because it's not like Mexican spices and chilies get imported daily from Mexico so for Vancouver, it's ok. We had tortas, all types of tacos and overall it's a bit better than ok. 4th, the customer service is perhaps their best attribute, we met the owners wife and also their daughters which work there and are all extremely helpful, nice, courteous, professional and very attentive. Other Mexican places around are NOT like that and we noticed that immediately. Lastly, the price is expensive but it's Vancouver what so you expect? We came from San Francisco Bay Area California and we are used to prices like that so do NOT expect to eat with $10 Canadian dollars, it'll be more from anywhere from $15-25 Canadian dollars per person. Lest you forget that everything gets important in this place and expect everything to be pricey. Overall, this place is good for Vancouver. Had this place would of been anywhere in California I probably would have given it 3 stars because there's better access to Mexican products for better plates. I do recommend this place because this is the best...

I am in between a 2/3 stars. I would go 2.5 because I think 2 is a bit low. I came to this place because of the ratings it has. I would say I was a bit let down. My friend ordered the tortilla soup to start. We asked if it could all come at the same time. For starters the soup has NO MEAT in it, and it comes with a price tag of $9. So I expected it to be pretty good. The soup came and it was a little bit above cold. My friend told them this, and they went back and simply put it in the microwave. When it came back out I was expecting new tortilla crisps on top, but only saw soggy reheated ones.

I ordered 4 set of tacos and 2 extra lingua ones. They were tasty. I don’t think anything special. I have had ones like this ( I would say fairly authentic) for about $1-$2USD in Blaine right across the border. Now I know rent prices etc are also high here so I get the pricing of things. My friend ordered the 4 prawn tacos. They looked good.

Overall I think the food not bad. But for $70 before tip for her 4 tacos, my 6 tacos, she had a Caesar, tortilla soup and guacamole and chips, I thought it was a little bit pricey. I have had tacos from down the road that are $1.99/ per that were similar. I think it’s hard to make a bad taco when it’s literally just meat and the 2 shells.

I’m the end. I thought the tacos were very small, we got cold soup and I didn’t think the value was quite there. I do not know if I...

My entree to The Mexican [no pun intended] was catalyzed by my daughter who is totally immersed in Latin culture and is also an avid foodie with her own MEETUP group. When I saw they had chimichanga on their menu, a personal favourite I discovered decades ago when living in Arizona where that dish actually, originated - so admittedly not actually authentic Mexican cuisine, but who cares?! - my interest was definitely piqued.

6 members of our family went about a week ago. We ordered numerous dishes including soups and salads in addition to main courses, and the general consensus was that the food is good, but nothing special. As for my chimichanga...

I crave the crunch factor that distinguishes it from a burrito, but mine was sitting in and covered with so much sauce that it was somewhat soggy. Also, I'm used to a chmichanga being served on a bed of lettuce with generous dollops of guacamole and sour cream on top, plus includes rice & refried beans which was not how it's prepared here.

If a review rating relied solely on food quality, I would give this place 3½⭐, but there's also service to consider, and The Mexican excelled at that. Our server was very sweet, helpful, and attentive, plus our order arrived quickly, so I'm happy to give them a bump to 4⭐ .

I suggest you give The Mexican a try and see for...
