We had a friend visiting from out of town and needed a place that was open early, and she wanted Mexican. Food was fine, coffee- in a cute little French press- was watery. Where the restaurant lagged was the menu, so obtusely worded that it was difficult to choose if you weren’t familiar with the dishes. For instance it seems some tortas come with salad or potatoes but it’s unclear which or if any they come with by reading the menu. Of course you can ask the server but no one wants to bother them w questions about every single dish, what it comes with etc. My torta came drenched in a pungent one note sauce, gray meat- I would never have ordered it if I knew it was presented covered in sauce- and took only a bite. Obv got soggy fast. (See pic- had to throw it away..) An untouched dish should always be acknowledged in any decent restaurant. Another of our guests did not eat their food. Eggs benny was mid. Server was pleasant but imo should have acknowledged that 2/3 of the food wasn’t eaten. Probably the ethos of management if I had to guess. When I asked the server assistant to get my food to go- she begrudgingly took my untouched plate, took it to the kitchen- then brought the plate back to me with a grouchy expression and said- you can pack it up. Ok?? I have no problem packing my own food but then why take the plate away and show it to the kitchen? Atmosphere is very casual, small and unremarkable, uncozy- not enough to make up for this stretch of Granville. Not somewhere you’d want to linger. Super sweet hostess, a ray of light!

This place was a pleasant surprised that we stumbled upon when searching for last minute brunch! It’s Mexican inspired brunch, with what I felt like was a handful of spanish speakers eating inside. I ordered the brunch Benedict and although vegetarian, felt like nothing was missing! I thought the idea of using a croissant as the base of an eggs benedict was genius! It made it extra rich and buttery, yet the pico de gallo and avocado balanced it out well, keeping it refreshing and not too heavy - I feel like adding meat would’ve tipped it over though. I would recommend half salad and potatoes, and that should be the perfect amount of food to keep you full for quite some time. I will mention the potatoes were pretty yummy as well! I haven’t tried anything else but by the looks of the menu, this seems to be a place to come for comforting, cheesy dishes. It felt like they served Mexican classics for breakfast, but I’m not Mexican, so I’m really not sure. 😅 They also had crepes, which looked and smelt delicious for those who prefer sweet dishes! This is a place I’d come back to, not necessarily for the service has it was quite average, but for the food. It’s at par with your typical brunch prices and is a small cute place on granville!

Love the name, very to the point. I enjoyed a great Mexican brunch here with my mom who's visiting from out of town! The stretch of Granville that the place is located on is a little grungy, but restaurant inside is cute and tidy. I ordered the cheese enfrijoladas ($18) and my mom got the chicken enchiladas suizas ($20). So good! Both sauces were packed with flavour (I didn't try the enchiladas suizas themselves but did sample the sauce), and they have an awesome homemade hot sauce if you can handle a little heat - I would call it medium as far as hot sauces go. A little detail on the enchiladas suizas that I thought was nice was the freshly fried tortilla chips with a small serving of beans. The dishes were filling and I thought the price was worth it, about $45 for two people after tip. I would certainly be happy to come back and try either more Mexican items or something from the Canadian side of the menu.

Prejudiced against families. Extremely disappointed with the service and the treatment we received as a new family of one beautiful, quiet and patient 4 month old. We waited 30 minutes in line for a table only to watch 4 more parties of two be seated ahead of us. My husband stood in line in the sun and I had to stand in the shade a few metres from the door with our son and when we asked why everyone was being seated before us they told us we were not in the line. Then when we requested to speak to the manager, the manager on staff and the hostess said they had “forgotten” about us and gave our table away already and that we would have to wait another 45 minutes for another table to open. If you are a parent, you may know the struggles of finding the golden time between when your baby needs to nap and eat and affords you the luxury of sharing a meal and will likely understand why we are extra frustrated and disappointed in the service. We had been to this restaurant a few times in the past before our son was born and liked the chillaquiles and were craving them and made a special outing to share brunch as a family for the first time but waiting an additional 45 minutes was not an option for our family. I am not sure if they were suggesting that I also stand in the unforgiving 27 degree sun with my baby as well to “earn” a seat in the restaurant or if they are just so forgetful that they really just “missed” my husband standing at the front of the line or if they just hate families but either way we left hungry and feeling totally rejected. I don’t know if we will go back again as the service was honestly just so bad it...

I wanted to give a higher review but a couple things were disappointing. They seemed irritated I showed up right at 8:30 (I honestly wanted to eat earlier but gave them a chance due to ratings, despite them opening late for a breakfast place). They quickly took my order, which is nice. But what was odd was I ordered my black tea, and the waitresses just sat there and chatted to each other after. Presumably waiting for my food to be ready - ok. But usually places serve the drink first right? Since it’s quicker, etc. well I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt in my head thinking that maybe they just have a policy to bring it with the food. But then, a party of 5 came in and all ordered their coffees. The waitresses immediately served them their coffee- and for me, still no tea! They brought me foood a few minutes later and I had to ask them if I was still going to be able to get my tea, which prompted them to actually make it and bring it to me. Now look, if it was a busy restaurant at the time I was there, I completely get forgetting. But I was initially the only person there, and it was very disappointing that they socialized and didn’t make my tea. I’m genuinely not trying to be a Karen here, I just found this disappointing customer service.

As for the food, potatoes were good. I felt the bacon in my omelette was too soft/undercooked but that’s primarily just personal preference so I don’t necessarily fault the...
