Where's the Best Bang for Your Buck Hair Salon in Vancouver?!

TLDR: I had a really nice and socialable barber named Francis who gave me his best and gave me what I was looking for! My hair was pretty grown out but still really uneven in some parts (due to my old hairstyle) and I came in looking for a two-block haircut. He told me that I would probably need to grow it out a little longer (like about one more month) but I told him to go ahead anyways and just see what he could do. The end result was basically what I was looking for but it indeed was a bit short (which was inevitable due to my uneven hair). It has been about a month now since my haircut and I can say that it has grown out perfectly into what I want it to be/what I have been looking for. I am able to style it however I like (to the side, 40/60, 60/40, or 50/50 and there are no weird bits due to a bad haircut (Thank you and good job Francis if you see this!). Overall I had a great experience except for waiting a little longer past my reservation due to it being very busy, but it was definitely worth the wait! *Three must read quick notes: -Always make a reservation before you come -Find what hairstyle you want prior to going (and preferably tell them in call) and make sure you show them/tell them as they will find their best free barber for the cut -They wash your hair and blowdry it so you don't have to worry too much about getting hair on your clothes or feeling like you have to shower right after. I still recommend showering after the cut (I did) but it isn't a must unlike other barbers (they don't leave you with hair all over) Photo Explanation: -Full body photo in a black tank top was how it was right when I got home from my haircut. -The three selfie photos are pictures taken with how it looks currently. -The thumbs up photo was taken in between the weeks after the haircut.

Horrible! I spent $500 on my hair treatment from this place but its not worth it at all. I am really disappointed. I got my hair done May 29,2022 which includes my hair colour, keratin plus hair cut. I wanted dark black colour to get rid of my golden highlights that I had earlier and I wanted the Keratin treatment because my hair was gone too rough after I got my hair bleached and my curls. I thought my hair would look smooth black after the treatment, but the results I got are totally opposite. She just trimmed some of my bleached hairs at the ends and then coloured my hair. And then Keratin but the funny part is she coloured my hair again after Keratin. Even then I can see my golden highlights. Its just 15 days and I don’t see any colour done to my hair neither the keratin. Even though I can still smell the keratin treatment in my hair. Just terrible. Not just that I visited a day before my appointment to see the stylist to know if my hairs are good for all these treatments and Yeah she said ok and charged me $500. Looks I need to spend the money on the same treatments for my hairs again because my hairs are back to normal again in not less than 15 days.

It was my first time to Studio D saloon. Got my hair cut with Ashley.

I picked this place after searching and reading through google search, then decided to make an appointment. They have very easy online booking system as well.

The place: It was clean, tidy, very cozy and I like the relaxing music they played.

The price: Very reasonable, with the service + the result of my haircut that I like so much, totally worth it.

Ashley: Professional, very polite, paying attention into details, and knowledgeable.

I had waist-length hair and I decided to get it cut short (ear-length).

She took care of my hair nicely and gently, from washing, drying to styling.

Before starting, she asked me how I would like my haircut to be. I told her what I was thinking. Next, there was small discussion (which I like) because she really had idea what type of short haircut that would be suitable for me (my face shape and also my hair type).

I know it wasn't easy for her, because I have super straight and thin hair. She was really concentrating and really gave me the best hair style.

The best part which I love the most is: with this hairstyle, after washing, I really don't have to do much. I just blow it dry, and the "shape" is already there, and looks more volume.

Thank...

had the worst service. was charged $45 for a haircut and got a total novice hair cut service. did not get the hair i wanted. ended to blow dry my hair after the haircut since she does not even know how to properly dry hair. my hair got practiced by a novice ans was charged for a senior rate. totally upset and disappointed. if this salon have a novice service, they should not charge the client $40 for a hair cut that is only worth $10. nearby cheap salons would be a choice if this is the case. i should have tried the salons nearby. the reason clients opted to go to a more pricy salon because of the expertise.

upset with the service. i guess they only serve to people they know and for new comer they practice. bad way to attract new clients. be aware

jist read the rest of the review and same thing to Arun Rahi? and management promised they will ensure it wont happen again. when i call them up to inquire they asked me and if i am new to the salon, and maybe decided to just pick up ramdom person the store( who even does not know how to cut) and assigned it to me. Now i am wearing an uneven hair, worst haircut aand cannot even make it fix since the hair was too...
