Anchor Massage & Therapy — Attraction in Winnipeg

Had a very disappointing experience with Hannah. I reached ten minutes early for my appointment, and I see the door is locked. No receptionist, and my calls aren't being answered. I was this close to just leaving. 10 minutes later Hannah, my masseuse let's me in, and passive aggressively chides me for knocking so many times because she was with a client and I was early. Apparently they keep the doors locked for safety reasons. Nobody notified me about this. Excuse me for being punctual and expecting a receptionist. Then for the next 15 minutes until the massage started all she did was passive aggressively let me know that she didn't like the knocking and apparently clients are emailed about this but "nobody ever reads their emails" (checked all my inboxes. 0 emails from them but apparently it's my fault). The massage itself was..meh. Not a word was spoken in the whole hour. Not once did Hannah ask me if the pressure is okay. At one point I just stopped saying "ow" and just let her hurt me. Sad, I was looking for a massage place I could come to every couple weeks and this place is really close to my work.

Advice to management: please communicate your locked doors, no receptionist, and unanswered calls policy to clients before they come in so that your employees won't become upset with clients knocking on doors and ruin...

I booked a couples massage at Waterfront as an anniversary gift for my partner, who was currently pregnant. The receptionist was very helpful and explained how my wife could still have and enjoy a massage while pregnant and answered all of questions. We arrived and the clinic is in a beautiful area and very nice inside, we were very early and were offered water and they had the best magazine selection of any waiting room I have ever been in. The massage room was very nice and the therapist who treated my wife was comfortable and made her feel very secure with the process. The girl who treated me found all my knots and a few I didn't know I had. We both felt like limp noodles afterwards. Great atmosphere as soon as you walk in, its a very unique lobby, where shoes are asked to be left at the front. Gives it a very cozy feeling right off the bat. They have local art on the walls for sale which gives it a nice vibe. The reception and therapist staff I met are all very friendly, and extremely helpful. They were very professional, respectful and able to answer any questions and concerns I had.

Before I showed up for my first massage here, I had pretty bad neck and back tension. After the first session it was almost gone. After my second session, it felt even better. The masseuse went above and beyond, and gave me good advice after the sessions and showed me some stretches to help relieve the tension between massages.
