I had a terrible experience at the funicular. The main issue was their online ticketing system, which does not accept foreign credit cards. As a tourist visiting the city, this was a huge inconvenience, especially given the long queues at the ticket office. It's ridiculous that they can't accommodate international visitors with a functional online payment system.
To make matters worse, the ticket office had long lines and was very disorganized. It's a shame that such a popular tourist attraction can't manage its operations more effectively to provide a better experience for visitors.

The reason this is a problem is that as tourists, if you don't have a SIM card there is no Wi-Fi and you'll be waiting while people will show up 45 minutes later than you and skip to the start of the line. The people skipping to the front makes it go so much slower because there are only two funiculars. We waited...

I paid with credit card and because of the long queue, I checked the the ticket I got just very briefly. It said "Ticket Grupo Ida y Vuelta". The credit card receipt was underneath, so I didn't noticed the much higher price. In the end, I got the "big" ticket, including the cable car and some bus ride. Of course I noticed afterwards but complaining about it was useless. So, always check, if you really got...
