I had a terrible experience at the funicular. The main issue was their online ticketing system, which does not accept foreign credit cards. As a tourist visiting the city, this was a huge inconvenience, especially given the long queues at the ticket office. It's ridiculous that they can't accommodate international visitors with a functional online payment system.

To make matters worse, the ticket office had long lines and was very disorganized. It's a shame that such a popular tourist attraction can't manage its operations more effectively to provide a better experience for visitors.

In the words of Pablo Neruda, 'Puedo escribir los versos más tristes esta noche' ('I can write the saddest lines tonight'). My experience at the funicular in Santiago del Chile was certainly a sad one. I hope that the management can improve their online payment system and overall operations to make the experience better for...

I'm a little hesitant to give it 4 stars because the service was terrible. However the views from the top and on the gondola make it worth it. We went on a Sunday. The line was VERY long but if you buy your ticket online you don't have to wait in the line and can just skip almost all the way to the front. The reason this is a problem is that as tourists, if you don't have a SIM card there is no Wi-Fi and you'll be waiting while people will show up 45 minutes later than you and skip to the start of the line. The people skipping to the front makes it go so much slower because there are only two funiculars. We waited...

Be careful and check what you get! I ordered explicitly "Ida y Vuelta" which is 1,995 Pesos. I paid with credit card and because of the long queue, I checked the the ticket I got just very briefly. It said "Ticket Grupo Ida y Vuelta". The credit card receipt was underneath, so I didn't noticed the much higher price. In the end, I got the "big" ticket, including the cable car and some bus ride. Of course I noticed afterwards but complaining about it was useless. So, always check, if you really got...

What a great Funicular to travel on. I bought a ticket online just before I joined the queue. There was a separate queue for people buying tickets at the kiosk but the online queue was much quicker. When the ticket queue reaches to ticket hall (bottom of Funicular) you will be there about 10 minutes but you get a great view of the cars going up and down (you can also buy an ice cream in the ticket hall)
