I stayed 2 weeks in this well managed, quiet and intimate hostel in a prime Santiago location within close proximity to many desirable tourist friendly establishments such as quaint cafes, fine restaurants and small markets. There is also a bustling nightlife area with numerous bars and live music venues about a 10 minute walk away. Many of Santiago's tourist attractions including the historic centre of town are easily accessible on foot. I had a room with a spacious private bathroom and large comfortable bed. The water pressure was good and hot water was readily available. The hostel's wifi reception was good. It was quiet here at night and I got a good nights sleep throughout my stay. The hostel provided a complimentary hearty breakfast for guests and the kitchen facilities were well equipped and kept clean. The hostel staff were all courteous, professional, accommodating and English speaking. The hostel includes a small coffee shop that sells delicious sandwiches, cakes and beverages. Guests of the hostel receive a 10% discount on purchases. This was a wonderful and welcoming place to stay for my 2 weeks in Santiago as a solo senior (65 yr old) traveller. I would definitely stay here again when...
Read moreOverall pretty good! It’s a pretty quiet place, which made the stay pretty peaceful.
The room, bed and sheets were clean. Bathroom, shower and toilet also clean. I just didn’t like the shower curtain, since I am not used to having one back home, but that was no big deal. Maybe adding some form of entertainment to the room and more toiletries would definitely be a plus.
Breakfast was incredible, maybe the best I’ve ever had in a hostel/hotel. Everything was fresh and the flavors were so, so amazing. The common areas are really cozy, which made breakfast even better.
Speaking of the common areas, they were all great, clean, cozy - overall a really nice spot to chill and hang out.
Kitchen very well equipped and maintained.
Everyone in the staff was super friendly, kind and helpful.
A downside for me was the internet, which was pretty unstable.
Location is good, fairly close to the city center. I just thought it had a bit of a weird vibe since the streets were mostly dead empty, so it gave a not so safe feeling sometimes, even though nothing happened to me...
Read moreThe hostal is located on the foot of the San Cristobal Hill within walking distance of the funicular and less than a 10 minute walk to a metro station.
Staff was friendly and offers takeaway breakfast if you have to leave early. Breakfast was on the lean side but the place does offer unlimited hot water and coffee all day long.
I stayed in a 4 person dorm room and the room was clean with large lockers which fitted my suitcase; you don't have to bring your own padlock. There is one bathroom with toilet and shower that you share among the four of you. However, what I like is that you can see whether it is occupied or not from the room itself so you don't have to go outside to check. I did not have any problems with the shower temperature unlike some other places in Chile. The only negative thing is that they don't provide shampoo or body wash so make sure to bring your own.
I recommend you get a bottom bed because you can't sit upright on the top bunks. There is a well-equiped shared kitchen as well and the bathroom got...
