Grandview Mall — Attraction in Guangzhou City

A mega mall with several live animal attractions built within. Overall rating should be a four-star. The mall itself is showing its age after 20 years of operation, even though management is trying its best to keep its facilities relevant and maintained well enough.

There are plenty of anchor stores and much to do with the major attractions they’ve built into the mall experience. The latter is really what brings people here, as most stores could probably be found elsewhere nearby. You can’t cover all of the attractions they offer in one day.

The daily music fountain shows outside of the LEGO store that’s embedded in the front of the mall is a marvel to behold, and is held several times each day, half an hour each time.

There are many one-star activist ratings from tourists who are against making entertainment out of animals. Which is fine, but that detracts from the intention of the mall itself. So read those reviews with a grain of salt and use your...

I don't understand why Chinese see amusement on animals slowly dying in terrible conditions behind glass prisons, because that's what this place is. A shopping mall that doesn't have anything to see but the decadence of humanity. We were in a short business visit to Guanzhou and went to this infamous shopping mall for lunch. Unfortunately we were taken to this horrible place were you see all these animals like waiting to die. I haven't seen such a depressive scenery before (actually I did...in the Beijing Zoo). Obviously after such a freak show the appetite was gone... And good because the options in this place weren't calling at all. The shops are boring, the staff everywhere seems to be totally fed up (not a single smile.. maybe the heat?). Anyway... it was a horrible experience.

Please avoid this place, you leave totally sad and empty...

If I could give you zero stars I would. You should be ashamed of your treatment of animals in your shopping centre just so your customers can take selfies with them? It's utterly appalling and disgusting. The conditions that even that bear was kept in is horrific. No natural light or air? It'd be great if YOU were kept in conditions like that. The bear / animals are far from happy and healthy. Videos of it swimming and being fed by staff doesn't prove a SINGLE thing. I could put you in a cell and show images of you walking around and eating your food and label you happy / healthy..... Please please release the bear to better caretakers. It does not belong in a damn shopping centre for gawking passer bys. The animal welfare laws in China is disgusting. I am ashamed to have Chinese...
