Absolutely kudos for this store for wanting to reduce waste. Any store that can open the eyes of Hongkongers to the self-created growing trash mountains around them, should be lauded. The culture of disposability & convenience needs to be curbed, but not necessarily in the way proposed by Slowood. By striving for both the zero waste concept AND the bio aspect, the majority of products are too pricey, thereby exceeding the open-mindedness & willingness of Hongkongers to change their convenience oriented habits. I had high hopes for this store, but was disappointed. I don't need bio soap chunks from New Zealand without a wrapping; I need a bulk store where I noticably see products priced lower due to me not having to pay anyone for wrapping my imperishable Weetabix in plastic foil & a nicely printed cardboard box. Such product offerings & pricing, combined with sensible & progressive government initiatives to reduce the convenience of disposable items will be of great help in tackling Hong Kong's...
Read moreThis place will certainly divide zero waste enthusiasts somewhere down the middle. Some of the products they sell are of dubious pedigree for sure. What this store does well is apparent from the outside. It’s a very photogenic space and for a HK shop has an ample space for wandering through the stores enticing isles. Yes, it’s not all dry goods, oils, and cleaning staples here. You’ll find other charming tableware and beauty products on offer as well.
As much as this shop is a slickly packaged concept, it has decided it’s going to need to make money on supplemental, packaged merch until the craze goes mainstream and we don’t have to travel across several districts to get low waste household products. Come check it out. Some day soon you may be able to say, I remember when...
Read moreFavourite eco friendly store in HK. Love the decor inside - super relaxing to browse the store. Bulk bins are really handy for all your pantry staples / snacks - the dried mango cheek is delicious! Lots of Mr. Organic products too. Note the prices for the packaged food are quite high, PANA chocolate especially (HKD60!)
Would recommend visiting the store in person rather than online, as when we ordered from the online store they weren’t able to provide an estimated shipping time and the driver only called 15 minutes away from their arrival. Not super convenient, especially if you’re ordering something which needs immediate refrigeration...
