HKUMAG is a typical university museum, in fact within HKU, small and traditional, but do not underestimate it. Located in the historic and protected Fung Ping Shang building the collection is fairly broad and the rooms are roughly themed and roughly chronological. There is for example a room containing early Chinese bronzes. Another hosting export Ware's and so on. The underrated prize I think is the large collection of Nestorian crosses. Genghis khan's mother was apparently a Christian so find out this and more in this room. The gallery is mostly on the first floor so bear this in mind if mobility is an issue. There are a series of special exhibitions and collections hosted here that are well worth visiting.

The museum is within 15 minutes walking distance from Sai Ying Pun MTR station. But it could be difficult for the disabled wheelchair travelling up from the MTR station to the museum in Bonham Road. You can get a minibus from the bus terminal beneath Exchange Square and it will provide direct drop off to the Musuem in the HKU East Gate. The museum is in a well conserved heritage building. I loved the tranquil environment with adequate clear directory for the exhibited antiques in the museum. Highly recommended if you look for alternative places to visit after endless shopping in Hong Kong.

One of the Le French May 2022 photo exhibition of Chun Wai held in this beautiful avenue - the gallery in this antique building was always a nice place to visit. Its tranquility alone was somewhat an attraction. An the university was celebrating its 111th anniversary, there was more happening and things to explore in the HKU campus.

Very good. Do not expect a grand museum with very big exhibitions but the quality is there: The permanent exhibition consists of 4 rooms with potteries covering a large time period (from antiquity to modern times) and some Chinese furniture. But the real show are the temporary exhibitions. There are usually 2 (sometimes 3 including a small one on first floor), renewed every 4 month or so in a rotation. I have been going to everyone of them for 4 years and have pretty much never been...
