Having been working in Causeway Bay for quite a long time, finally had the chance to do a long lunch (as my boss was away for a week). Did a bit researches and chose this restaurant finally. love It was located at L. Square, a very convenient location in Causeway Bay - just a 5-min walk from the MTR. But yet, the building was very crowded during lunch that it did take time to wait for the lifts... Careful
This restaurant did standard lunch sets in weekdays and there were quite some choices, 6 mains in total. It did not include anything else but we paid more to add the salad, soup and dessert.
Below were our lunch:
Tuna and Mixed Leaf Salad (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💢): A good start of the meal. The vegetables were fresh and the sauce was a bit sour - best to boost the appetite. Although the portion wasnt big, it had been sufficient. given the large main course size.
Pumpkin and Coriander Soup (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💢): A rich taste of pumpkin that I could taste a lot of minced pumpkin in the soup. Besides, the soup was very creamy and had a strong butter taste. The taste of coriander wasnt strong, which was good as not all people liked that.
Wagyu Beef Burger (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️): The beef was big and juicy. Although it was meaty, relishing with other vegetable toppings, such as tomato and sour cumber, made it less greasy. Besides, the burger buns were baked with butter, which made it crispy. There were also a lot of fries and salad that we couldnt finish all...
Rib Eye Steak (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️): Probably, the # 1 dish of the meal. We ordered a medium cooked one - the beef was juicy and tender. It was a bit fat but yet it did make the beef less chewy and dry - though not very healthy, acceptable to do once in a while.
Cheese Cake (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💢): This wasnt included in the set lunch and had to add +HKD18 for this. However, it was worthy. The cake wasnt too sweet or hard. On top of it were almond slices and some berry jam. The berry jam was fruity and added colour to the cake. Just that the cake portion was small.
All in all, this restaurant wasnt expensive given its convenient location in Causeway Bay. The food quality was good too. A good choice to...
Read more🍽️ Me and my friends had the pleasure of dining at this highly recommended high-class restaurant. We were captivated by its dark and sophisticated design, creating a perfect ambiance for an exquisite dining experience. The carefully curated music enhanced the overall atmosphere, adding to the delightful evening ahead.

Read moreWe had brunch at The Grill Room on the 5th floor of the L Square building on Lockhart Road in February. It wasn't good.
This is a Western style eatery in between Causeway Bay and Wanchai Districts. Our brunch was a mixed affair, some good and poor dishes served.
What we liked at The Grill Room was the Wagyu burger (HK$128) prepared correctly at medium rare. The patty was rather small in an oversized bun (see picture) but the quality of the beef was quickly evident. Burger toppings ok, bun a bit tired but also ok. Fries were good. Overall, this was a pretty good burger, comparable to our top burger specialist places on Hong Kong Island.
We also very much liked the salted caramel milkshake (HK$75) that was thick, creamy, sweet and delicious. This was great milkshake, complementing the burger very nicely. Worth note as well, we liked the decor, seating area and general atmosphere. The Grill Room is a casual place, seems like a good place to meet up with friends or to enjoy a western dinner for families.
What we didn't like so much was the salad served with the burger. The lettuce, bacon bits and crouton were fine but the dressing had a heavy anchovy aroma and flavour, which we personally didn't care for.
We also found the smoked salmon Benedict (HK$118) inedible. The eggs were poached fine and served atop smoked salmon that was much too fishy for our liking. We love salmon and eat it regularly but this had an off-putting smell and taste, not something either of us could stomach. We ate a few bites and, like the salad, had to take a pass on the rest.
In the end, The Grill Room shows promise and we did enjoy their burger and shake, something potentially worth returning for. Unfortunately, other 'fishy' dishes had us spooked and unable to eat during our brunch. That was a shame and will likely keep us from returning to The Grill anytime soon. Others, may have better luck at this restaurant...
