I like stopping by the Fire Service Museum (Museu dos Bombeiros) on Estrada de Coelo do Amaral from time to time, mostly to see the early 20th century Denny fire engines on display. Opening hours are 10am to 6pm daily.

The museum (free entry) is found within a historic colonial era building and includes two rooms. The first includes the British made Denny's which were put to use in Macau during the first half of the 20th century. They are in good condition and really neat to see up close. There are also historical Chinese water pump apparatuses which predate the Dennys. These are equally enjoyable to see and learn about.

The second room is a showcase of firefighting equipment, gear, clothing and other items that will be of interest to firefighting enthusiasts. Give this room a few minutes to browse as well if you end up at the Fire Services Museum.

Note: For those interested in making a visit the Fire Services Museum, it is around 5-6 minute walk northeast of the Ruins of St. Paul. Make sure to have you map of Macau handy so you know exactly where to go. There are some green signs pointing the way but a map will help you get there as quickly as possible. Allow 10-30 minutes for this museum, depending on your level...

Small but fully packed museum of the fire department of Macau. The price pieces are in front which are two big firetrucks from the 30's and 50's. There's a story to follow thru the museum which tells the history from the early 1900 till the 2000's. Lots off equipment and fire prevention pieces to be seen. The entrance is free and the building is clean and nice. It has 4 out of 5 stars because off it's small size, you're done in...

Small museum with a collection of antique, historic firefighting equipment, including some vehicles! Displays are in Chinese, Portuguese, and English.

I wish that they would place some of the displays lower, especially the plaques with insignia. The designs are amazing and I love to see how they changed through the years, but some of the plaques and flags are placed far above my eye/height level.

Museum is free to enter and...
