We recently visited the St. Michael Chapel and Cemetery during a recent trip to Macau. The small blue chapel was quite lovely both on the inside and outside and we found the Catholic cemetery itself to be quite interesting, filled with tombs, crosses, statues with Portuguese and some Chinese etchings. The oldest markings we found were from the 1860's I believe but I'm sure there were older tombs to be found here.
If you are planning to visit this area of Macau, you can also see the beautiful St. Lazarus district and the decent St. Lazarus Church just a few minutes walk in the direction of the Historic Centre of Macau. Also, in just a few minutes walk down the street from the cemetery grounds, you will find the nice Tap Seac Square area. Then if you proceed up Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeidia, which is lined with beautifully painted houses, you will find the impressive Lou Lam Ieoc Gardens, one of our top spots in all of Macau.
