I spent a total of 7 nights here on either side of trips outside of Bogota. Hostel is true to the pictures. Warm and cozy fire pit communal lounge. Cute rooftop. Delicious breakfast with local dishes like arepas and avo, but also standard granola bowls, eggs, pancakes. Dinner menu is quite simple and less substantial, with no dessert. But you can use Rappi delivery app and there are restaurants within safe walking distance at night. Well located part of La Candelaria - seems to be a bit safer as not in the most touristed part of the main square. FYI your uber or taxi may drop you on the road just parallel to Dreamer but you’ll see the door - it’s right there. A mini mart right next door and an ATM across the square. Staff were friendly and accommodating. They let me store my luggage there for over a week and again for a few days. Hostel felt very safe - locked entry door with someone always on duty in reception and individual room locks (although the key cards were always needing to be reset which was a bit annoying). There are a few downsides were that I want to call out. it’s not very social - even though there is a group chat and a happy hour each day, the activity like the daily walking tour is actually with an external company. I suggest they do a hostel activity like walk up Monserrate on two days a week. its right next to a club so in some rooms on some nights it literally sounds like the club is in your room and the music goes until 2am. I stayed in 3 rooms and had my sleep severely disturbed in two of the rooms even through ear plugs. Also the dorms aren’t all “equal”. I stayed in 3 and it got worse instead of better. Shakira dorm had a window that could open (as it gets stuffy in these small rooms), bathroom had an extractor fan to help with steam and mold plus the shower had a shelf to put your toiletries. But there are 6 beds and 5 lockers. Marta dorm had a full length mirror, an opening window and bathroom fan but no shower shelf. each bed had a locker. This room was “in the club!”. The last dorm I was in had no ability to open the window, the bathroom had no fan so it was dripping wet and moldy and no shower shelf to put toiletries, also one less locker than bed. The dorms also only have curtains on the lower bunks but one overhead main light, so if someone comes into the room and needs to turn the light on the get their bedside light turned on, it would disturb the top bunk people who have no curtain. So while I did enjoy my stay there the first time, hence I went back again, unfortunately the next round of rooms made it a less pleasant stay. I hope they make some of these easy fixes to the rooms as the hostel has...
Read moreFrom the moment I arrived in Colombia, I was welcomed with warmth and exceptional hospitality.
The incredible receptionist, Lorena was so sweet and helped me book their preferred airport shuttle car service through Whatsapp, making my arrival stress-free and convenient. Once at the hostel, she made sure I was settled in my room and offered to start the sauna. One of the highlights of this hostel was the amazing sauna, truly one of the reasons I choose this hostel instead of others. It was the perfect way to unwind after a long journey and set the tone for my stay. The fact that they offer such a luxurious amenity is truly impressive.
The hostel's bar was another delightful surprise. It featured a wide array of different and exciting cocktails that were not only delicious but also presented as a captivating show by their talented bartender, Juan. His skillful and hospitable approach added a unique touch to the overall experience.
The entire space of the hostel was incredibly inviting, whether you wanted to socialize with fellow travelers, relax in a quiet corner, or take in the vibrant atmosphere of the bar, there was a spot for everyone. The attention to detail in the hostel's design and layout really stood out. One aspect that made me feel particularly secure during my stay was the hostel's stringent security measures. The main doors were locked to the public, ensuring that only guests could access the premises. While there were no elevators in the hostel, the staff was always ready and willing to help with bringing up bags.
To top it all off, I had the pleasure of meeting the CEO of the hostel, who was not only kind but also an amazing host. My short stay was nothing short of exceptional. From the warm welcome to the luxurious sauna, captivating cocktails, and top-notch security, every aspect of my experience was remarkable. I can't recommend this hostel enough to fellow travelers looking for a comfortable, safe, and unforgettable stay in Bogota. I will undoubtedly be returning on my next visit. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay...
Read moreI have been traveling for several months and have staying in over 50 hostels on 5 different continents. Casa Dreamer Bogota was one of the BEST hostels I have stayed in. The entire building was extremely elegant, the rooms were equipped with everything I needed and each room has it’s own bathroom which is an absolute PLUS! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, especially the bartender Juan Miguez. He was familiar with everything in the area, gave wonderful recommendations and even introduced me to a local experience during my night out. Not to mention his great bartending skills, very attentive to the customers. He was a staff member but I now consider him a long life friend. I left Bogota to visit other cities in Colombia but I need to return to bogota and I will stay at Casa Dreamer Bogota again when I return. The picture listed is a view from the...
