FACT CHECKING RECENT 1 STAR REVIEWS: Despite a few recent 1 star reviews, I booked Landmark Medellin for a 1 week stay. Here's my experience and some rebuttals to different 1 star reviews I've seen. Before I proceed, I will note, the hotel makes it VERY clear that you must check in any and all guests at the time of check-in and they make their policy very clear as well, that if you bring any guests, you'll incur a penalty. It's not a hard policy to understand and I have a feeling some of these poor reviews are because they tried to bring an unexpected guest in later. Regarding London C./Richard C. (I believe these are the same person leaving multiple 1 star reviews) they state that the hotel didn't inform them the pool was under maintenance. I had the opposite experience. I was informed of the dates that the pool was under maintenance, the aircon was under maintenance, and when the partner restaurants had limited menus due to issues outside their control. The same reviewer states that "the restaurant has atrocious food". Again, this appears to be a reviewer upset about other circumstances trying to make the entire trip sound bad. I ate at Smash and at General Cafe and both had great dishes. I had the pasta that this reviewer mentioned and no, it does not have Cheetos. It does have something adding a crunch aspect, but it's not Cheetos and it's not bad (see photo with aperol spritz, this appeared to be the same dish). Also, both of these restaurants are partnered with the hotel to offer guests breakfast (if you included it on your booking) and the breakfasts are fantastic. I had Mr. Pochado (recommend) at General Cafe, avo toast at Smash, and eggs + croissant at General Cafe. All came with juice and coffee and fruit. It was a very high quality breakfast every time. Images attached. The last complaint from this reviewer is that they took someone to their room and got charged. They chalk the guest situation up to a woman that was an employee recruit. I don't understand why they would be bringing a potential recruit to their room. These rooms aren't situated for professional meeting spaces and a male inviting a "potential female recruit" to this room seems inappropriately intimate. The common area has plenty of seating and a professional setting. Regarding Alejandro Salgado's review, I was surprised to read a bad review about the blackout curtains. I slept during the daylight hours a couple different days this trip. I had no issue. The room got nice and dark. I even took a photo (see attached photos) to compare the difference, mind you, the attached photo is with a long shutter speed so it appears even brighter in the photo, when in reality, the room was nice and dark when the shade was down. Also, the shade is automatic, which I thought was neat! This reviewer also mentioned a smoke detector above the bed. Yes, there is one. However, the blinking light is a tiny microLED. The red LED on the TV power indicator is much brighter. Claiming to be awoken by this LED seems dramatic. This was a very odd complaint and I found this to be inconsistent with my experience. I found the bed to be extremely comfortable and the pillows comfortable as well. Lastly, regarding Sang Peiris review. Yes, I found my room to be a bit small but it was adequate for what was needed. My suite did not have a staircase, so I cannot attest to the steepness, though other reviews mention the same. Balconies are, in fact, quite small and only have 1 chair. I would agree with this. My unit, however, DID have a water dispenser which I found very unique and clever. It's a dispenser built into the wall with an RO system, as I was told. I saw an iron in the free laundry room. Also, the laundry room was a great touch. Totally free with washer and dryer and Tide pods + dryer sheets. There's also an ice machine in there. While Sang's review was correct, there's no coffee in the room, there is an abundant table of coffee and teas in the lobby available at all time. Overall, I loved this hotel and found the 1 star reviews to be contrary to my experience.

After a grueling arrival process at Medellín Airport and what felt like an eternity stuck in traffic, we couldn’t wait to unwind at the Landmark Hotel. Unfortunately, while the staff’s friendliness and hospitality were exceptional, the hotel itself left a lot to be desired—especially the rooms. Having traveled all the way from Europe with plans for a three-week Colombian adventure, we naturally had quite a bit of luggage (four pieces, to be exact). Imagine our surprise when we discovered the room only had space for one piece of luggage. The chic, Instagram-worthy design may have been easy on the eyes, but practicality clearly took a backseat. Navigating the room felt like playing Tetris: squeezing past furniture, dealing with shower doors that wouldn’t close properly, and wondering why an oversized bean bag—yes, a bean bag—was hogging all the precious space. The staff kindly upgraded us to a duplex, but sadly, the same issues persisted. The staircase felt more like an obstacle course, and the use of space continued to defy logic. It was as though the designer had a grudge against functionality. After one night of feeling like sardines in a very stylish can, we decided to cut our losses and move to a much roomier hotel. That said, the Landmark does have a couple of redeeming qualities. The rooftop pool and bar are undeniably stunning—perfect for soaking up Medellín’s incredible views. And the location is superb, with restaurants and bars just a five-minute walk away. The downside? You’ll hear those bars (and your fellow guests) late into the night. In short, if you value practicality over aesthetics, Landmark isn’t for you. Come for a cocktail at the rooftop bar, but stay elsewhere if you don’t want to feel like you’re living out of your suitcase... literally.

This hotel is an absolute breath of fresh air in the majority of departments. The architecture and design is beautiful, the location is perfect and the staff were absolutely brilliant for everything. They even messaged me on WhatsApp to inform me that I'd left an item in the room which they kept until it was collected. A special thankyou goes to Alejandra for the excellent service and for keeping in touch. The two on-site cafes have some wonderful dishes so make sure you try them both out during your stay. The rooms have a filtered water tap built into the wall which is a great feature. The shower is one of the best we've ever experienced too. The hotel is however let down by a couple of things that others may find trivial but I feel are worth noting. The standard rooms are a bit small so good luck positioning 2x open suitcases with room to spare. Whilst the pool is nice, there is no toilet at this level so you have to get into a lift whilst wet to go down a level to get to the public bathrooms. Lastly, it takes a very long time to get your drinks from the pool bar and it often appeared as though staff would have to go down to the hotel lobby to get them...despite having the drinks stocked there at the bar. A second on site washing machine would be helpful as well. I would encourage you to concentrate more on the positives in this review as it really is a lovely hotel with superb staff and there's so many awesome restaurants within a 5 minute walk and you can walk to Provenza within 10 minutes.

We recently celebrated my daughter’s destination wedding in Medellín, we picked the Landmark Hotel for all guest to stay ,the experience was nothing short of exceptional. After carefully reviewing several options, we chose this hotel, and we couldn’t be more pleased with our decision. The service was impeccable from start to finish. We had multiple guests arriving on the same day, and despite our excitement, the staff remained calm, patient, and professional throughout. Every employee we encountered was polite, friendly, and always smiling, making us feel right at home. The restaurant in the lobby was fantastic, offering a variety of organic options, which was a pleasant surprise. We also indulged in the spa services, including a relaxing massage, and found a lovely beauty salon just around the corner of the building, which was incredibly convenient. The location of the hotel is perfect, with a traditional Colombian restaurant just a short walk away. A special shoutout to Cristian, Cami, and Samuel at the front desk for their outstanding service. Thanks to their warm hospitality, our stay in Medellín was truly memorable. I wholeheartedly give The Landmark Hotel a well-deserved 5 stars. Highly recommended!

Reservation. 💻📱 Very easy to do it, Booking, Confirmation in the mail, DONE. *It is possible to schedule a transfer from the 🛬 to the LANDMARK. **If you arrived by 🚘, you will be able to ask parking place close to the hotel. 2. Reception. The representatives in the reception are very professional and can help you any time. The BEST personnel!💛💙❤️ They will be able to provide you all info not only about the hotel but about Medellin, restaurants and other places. *close to the reception is a lounge space for relaxing or waiting, take ☕️/🧋... 3. Rooms. The rooms are very well, clean, with perfect views from the balcony. The LOFT style of the rooms is very harmonic. As the standard is present possibility to have the room clean, depend on only if you want or not. 4. Pool & Jacuzzi and the view from the rooftop. During the day or evening is a super possibility to visit the pool for a 🏊🏼♂️ and have one of the best views of Medellin from the rooftop!!! *** I want tell other BIG thanks for WhatsApp service! 📲 I can recommend this hotel! 🔝🔝🔝 Thank you LANDMARK!!!❤️

Landmark Hotel, el Poblado Colombia 🇨🇴 I recently stayed at Landamark Hotel in Colombia and had a wonderful experience overall. The service was exceptional, with Freddy providing us with fantastic recommendations and helping us plan our trip to Pereira. The hotel was very clean, and while the rooms were on the smaller side, they were comfortable for my husband and me. The bed was especially cozy, ensuring we got great rest during our stay. One area for improvement is the rooftop. I would love to see a better atmosphere and a more diverse food selection up there—it's a great space with potential! On a positive note, I absolutely loved the two coffee shops right next to the lobby. They offered amazing food, and the coffee was top-notch, making for a perfect start to our days. Overall landmark Hotel is a lovely place with great service, and with a few enhancements, it could be even better. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting Colombia!
