Buža Bar is one of those places you’ll never forget. Tucked away behind a small, almost secretive “Buza” sign on Dubrovnik’s city walls, you follow a stone tunnel that suddenly opens up onto a breathtaking cliffside bar overlooking the Adriatic. The setting alone is worth the trip – panoramic sea views, the sound of waves crashing below, and an unbeatable vantage point for watching the sun dip into the horizon.
It’s a no-frills spot in the best way possible. They only take cash, but the prices are very reasonable given the location. There’s a mix of shaded seating and sun-soaked spots, so you can settle in however you like. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can watch the cliff jumpers launching themselves into the sea below – or walk down and join them at a few safe sections yourself (bring a towel if you plan to swim!).
The best part? You don’t even need to pay for a walk around the city walls to get here – the entrance is separate and completely free. Buža Bar is more about atmosphere than anything fancy: cold drinks, stunning views, and that feeling of discovering something truly special.
Tip: Go a little before sunset for the best light, and bring some cash, a towel, and a sense...
Read moreThe view from this café overlooking Dubrovnik is absolutely stunning — unfortunately, the service was equally stunning, but for all the wrong reasons.
While we were there, two separate customers ordered drinks, started sipping them, and then informed the waitress that they could only pay by card. Rather than handling the situation with understanding or offering a solution, another waitress rushed over and rudely grabbed the opened drinks right out of their hands, stating that they couldn’t have them if they didn’t have cash. It was awkward and uncomfortable for everyone watching.
This kind of zero-hospitality approach is sadly too common in the Balkans, where customers are sometimes treated like nuisances rather than guests. There was no courtesy, no explanation — just a blunt and embarrassing scene for something that could have easily been handled with a bit of grace.
It’s a shame that such a breathtaking location is paired with such poor service It’s 2025, get a card machine or at least work out where the nearest cash machine is, don’t make a scene as if the people are coming in to steal your beer. Sadly typical...
Read moreFirst of all, I loved the view. The bar is outward towards the sea without any obstacles to ruin the view. You can get a clear view of the sea and the sky. You can also swim in the ocean which is accessible by a staircase leading to the sea. The staircase is reached by going through the bar so I assume it is a private beach. Some people wearing swim suits were jumping in, so prepare towels if you want to join. Service is okay. They might not notice you sometimes but they don’t get rude or unreasonable. However, I frequently hear stories of their scam using euros so make sure you prepare kunas to pay. Drinks are below average. I tried the ice coffee which was surely outstanding for the so so taste. Also, this I assume this is because they are located right in above the sea, but everything is served in plastic cups which kind of ruin the atmosphere. I don’t particularly think this place is pricy, considering every other restaurants and bars in old town. So, I recommend to go but go for the amazing views, maybe not for the drinks...
