Salt Lake is such a beautiful and peaceful place. If you have some free time, make sure to take a walk here. We walked from Phinikoudes beach, which is about 2.5 km. The lake is basically near the Larnaca airport. Nice and if you still stop for a snack at SUNSET SNACK COFE on the way, like we did, you'll make your walk even more enjoyable. The lake is very large and beautiful. You will see the beautiful flamingos that live there. They are usually there in the winter months. But the experience was amazing. The walk it has taken me around one hour and it was nice to see lots of flora and fauna and hear the birds singing on the trees. There's a view point too which is good if the flamingos were there but there are always other birds that stop there to see and enjoy. There are benches to sit along the way if you do get tired. As it was early Spring it had a lot of greenery and nice views from across the lake. If you do this walk it will he good to do it early in the morning or late afternoon in the Summer as it be will be too hot and in Winter it does gets too...

The place to start is at the Kamares aquaduct or the other end Larnaca Salt Lake Public parking. It is not a circular trail so runs between the 2 points. It is flat almost all the way. There are plenty of benches. Take some water as there is no place to buy a drink. Takes about 3 hours there and back. Very quiet. We saw only one other person in our 2 hour walk. A great change of scenery. Suitable for dogs...
