Koma tou Yialou — Restaurant in Larnaca

Nothing special. We ordered a fish meze… nothing special. And even though we had made a reservation on Friday for Sunday, they sat us in a spot that was obviously bad—so bad that they normally didn’t even have tables there. They just put a foldable plastic table, threw a tablecloth over it, and stuck us there. It felt like we weren’t really part of the restaurant.

Of course, we complained, but nothing changed. To give you an idea of where they put us, there was a small table for two right next to us, where an elderly couple—who had also made a reservation—was seated. When the old man saw where they were placing him, he jokingly told the waiter, “Good thing you didn’t drag us outside.”

Just to note, we’re from the same village, in case anyone thinks we would’ve been treated any differently. We’re from occupied Koma tou Yialou.

As for the bill, I personally found it overpriced, considering where we were seated and the quality...

Went to the place by chance, though I thought about it before. The place was not very busy at the time I visited the place at 5:30 pm. I ordered lamb chops a salad and a small local beer. Quality wise the salad that you have the choice to make the dressing (olive oil, vinegar and salt to taste) was fantastic and at a great price. There was free grilled bread and butter that came with the salad. As far as the lamp chops is concerned the quality was good and also appreciated the freshly dried local potatoes. We were welcomed at this lovely restaurant with open arms. Our server a lovely lady told us the recommendations as we asked. We ordered the calamari. Omg. It melted in our mouth. Served with fresh cut chips and salad. Absolutely delicious. I would definitely go back to try the extensive fish menu. Also very good pricing for the massive portions!!!
