Lokál Hamburk — Restaurant in Prague

Here it comes... I ordered a fried cheese with mashed potatoes and I have to admit it was one of the best I had. Apparently the cheese is fried on butter (possibly even clarified) instead of oil, which makes already the scent of the dish in front of you very appealing. It wasn't split into two triangles, but served in one large piece. A good thing is, the cheese did not pour all out after the first cut, instead it only bulged out a little but otherwise held it's form, additionally it was not a rubbery-gooey type of cheese, so people afraid of it getting stuck on its way down can enjoy this one fearlessly. The portion looked quite small at first glance, but after finishing I cannot say I'd go for a dessert - my stomach was satisfied just right (although I decided to finish after my wife). I am not a fan of mashed potatoes, usually they have no extraordinary taste, but again these were a lot better, their taste was well defined and you could again smell some butterish flavour, yet just a little. I guess it was the onion which also added an interesting touch and made the meal diverge even more from its usually boring standard. Finally, the service. Our waitress was kind and smiling, not welcoming but not annoyed, nothing wrong there. Both the drinks and the meal was served fast and they came to check on us a few times during the hour we stayed. The restaurant is semi-crowded, it was Sunday afternoon. I can imagine it becoming crowded, better make a reservation...

Delicious food, nice servers.

We walked in around 14:45 to have a late lunch and were told we could have a table for a little more than 1 hour and it was reserved after that. But shortly after we were seated, a server told us that the party that reserved the table had arrived and asked if we were okay sharing the table. We said it was fine, we would have obviously rather not shared the table but didn't want to make the server's life difficult. The party came to the table, talked amongst themselves for a few minutes and then got the server and were seated at a different table.

We thought it was odd that they agreed to seat them in the first place when they were an hour early for their reservation. If the table had been empty, then fine. But we had been seated there, so they should have been told they'd need to wait for their...

Can't recommend this place!!! We had to sit at a reserved table saying we have an hour to eat. In few minutes a small group came at the same table. We had to sit together. It was very embarrasing and uncomfortable for us and for them, we assume. The blue haired waitress who gave us the table didn't come back to say ANYTHING. I worked more than 3 years in hospitality as waitress and in this kind of situation she should apologize, at least...UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Another waitress offered a FREE table for us after we asked to take away our dinner. We didn't accept because if they had free tables why we had to sit at a reserved table and should have we moved to another table?.....Horrible experience. My starter was ok but my husband's burger didn't worth its price, it was overpriced but...
