PIMKAY — Attraction in Mariscal Sucre

I came here expecting to walk out and purchase several items that I had been looking for during my trip to Ecuador. Upon entering the store a man begrudgingly opened the door without even greeting us. He proceeded to follow my husband and I as we looked at several items and we even attempted to ask a few questions which he seemed annoyed to answer. Interestingly enough, a white foreigner was in there receiving lots of positive attention and we overheard the staff even giving her lunch recommendations. I left without buying anything because I felt so uncomfortable. Is there a reason certain customers are getting excellent attention and others are treated with disrespect? The mission seems great but if this is a reflection of the management or staff , I recommend you look elsewhere to purchase goods where you will be treated with respect and cordiality. Unfortunately, they missed out on a customer who would have gladly spent lots of money had I been treated...

I love this store! If you are looking for handmade and quality Ecuadorian items this is a place to check out! I came to buy one of the "shigra" purses but also found a beautiful scarf and wall hanging. Everything here is beautiful and I highly recommend this store to anyone looking for quality handmade items! El local es muy bonito, tienen cosas bellas. Sin embargo, la atención al cliente es deficiente. La empleada estaba ocupada con otros clientes. Había un hombre que pensé que era un empleado de vigilancia que mientras la empleada estaba ocupada, me seguía a todas partes me sentí como que estaba vigilando que no me robe nada. Le pregunté que quería tomarme un café y me dijo que la empleada estaba ocupada. Cuando ésta se desocupó de los clientes tampoco le dijo nada, sino que ella salió corriendo a atender nuevos clientes. Resulta que era el dueño y creo que con mayor razón debería ser atento y cordial y estar pendiente de los clientes si la empleada está ocupada. Me parece que tienen esa mentalidad de porque ellos pagan a una empleada, se rebajan si atienden a un cliente. Fui con toda la intención de comprar pero al ver la mala atención al cliente, realmente me salí decepcionada. Esta de moda las RRSS pero la cordialidad siempre será importante al vender...
