If there was less than one star rating, I would have awarded the ship with it. I have traveled on 2 different Cruise ships before this one... And by far it has been the worst ever. First of all, the ship has close to zero maintenence crew, or to be more accurate, the maintenance crew exerts almost zero effort to fix anything unless you complain more than once.... And even then it won't be fixed. I spent 3 nights with no phone in the room, and if I needed anything, I had to go 3 floors down to the reception to ask for it. They kept us in the lobby when we arrived to "check the rooms." However, they apparently didn't check the broken toilet seat, which was changed after complaining twice to the reception, once to the tour guide, and one more to the company in Alexandria (1000 kms away). Second, the room we (I, my wife, and my 9 months old girl) was a double. However, even after taking my information, and keeping me in the lobby "to prepare the room" they didn't join the beds. When I complained, they simply pushed them together (which was a piece of cake for me personally to do since they were on wheels), yet no one explained to these "professionals" that a joined bed requires a large bed sheet, which I had to asl for personally. Third, the beds kept sliding away with every simple movement because they are on wheels, and when I complained, they stated that all the beds are on wheels and my only chance is to use the bed stand as a blocker to avoid rolling away while my baby sleeps between me and my wife. Funny enough, while checking the bed on my last night, I found out the wheels had brakes that would prevent the beds from rolling!! Fourth, as for the crew, they are super friendly because simply this all what they can do. They have no idea of how to be professional in any way. After complaining a lot, they sent someone to simply put a plate of fruit in my room without even saying I'm sorry....as if throwing a bone to a dog to keep him quiet. Fifth, when I escalated things they offered me another room at 8 pm on my second night, and they asked me to pack my things and wake my baby and my wife up to move to a different floor, simply to spend the remaining night of my reservation there. Finally, the Ac drips water if it runs for too long, the bathroom floor tiles are broken and hidden with a towel, the shower has a very luxurious piece that doesn't work at all, and the lock on the door doesn't work because they broke it open before and never bothered to fix. The room I stayed in is 417, and by far this is the worst cruise ship I have ever been on. If you're visiting Luxor and Aswan, stay away from this ship so you can enjoy your stay on any other Nile cruise ship.
The ship has been awarded five stars for no apparent reason, and I'm starting to doubt that it...
Read moreAfter 5 cruises on the Nile, I Can compare. The Nile Dolphin is a disgrace. A shame. The MNGT is incompetent and ineffective. He assigned us Suite B even though we had reserved a single cabin. The suite is pitiful. Water from the AC falls in your face at night. Very old equipment, bolt torn off the door, door handle half broken, windows closing poorly, outdated refrigerator placed on the floor, very old air conditioning, traces of impact everywhere, dubious, gray sheets and pillows. The service in the restaurant, one server in two is clumsy and doesn't understand anything. The food is tasteless, without flavor, despite a very wide variety of dishes, that does not compensate for the bad cooking, in the morning the toaster which is 30 years old is unusable, All the cakes are pasty, floury without taste. The kitchen is terrible. Wifi expensive 5€/1GB,,,,,,and works poorly The upper deck is in the hands of two young people who play Arabic music loudly, two poor guys,,,this very old, poorly maintained boat is a shame. only the housekeeping people are competent,...
Read moreEnjoyed our cruise on the Nile Dolphin. The large window in our room provided us with a lovely view. Although somewhat dated, our room was comfortable. Loved watching the shoreline from the top floor of the ship. Although it is not the most deluxe cruise ship on the Nile, it met our needs, and we had a wonderful time. The crew was polite and helpful. The daily buffets were varied, and had something for even the pickiest of eaters. If you travel to Egypt, a Nile...
