We booked the Royal Seascope via 'Get your guide' which was much cheaper than the reps within our hotel! It was between £26-28 (in total) including a collection & drop off to/ from our hotel.
Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by the experience. Being under water was excellent and we were so pleased we chose to do this excursion. The ocean was beautiful and the staff on board were really friendly and attentive. The only issue I had was the heat underneath! My God I was boiling and the air-conditioning didnt really seem to do an awful lot. I was pleased when the 40 minutes of viewing time was up 😅
There was also an opportunity to snorkel for approx 15 minutes but we choice not to do this due to me being pregnant. However, those who did snorkel seemed to enjoy themselves.
Unfortunately they cannot predict what fish will be under the water but we got to see a sting ray and lots of other beautiful sea creatures.
The guide Ive posted a picture of was €5 and there were also drinks and milkshakes sold on board but they were overpriced and didnt quite look like the pictures 🥴 Probably due to the heat!
Definitely worth...
Read moreLike many tours in Egypt, this one was unfortunately impacted by persistent vendors trying to sell mocktails and offer “professional” photos. In the end, they just walk around with a bag asking for tips, which becomes quite annoying. The boat crew was generally friendly, but there was a lack of care—trash was not properly managed, and some crew members smoked around children throughout the trip, which was unpleasant. The scenery itself is beautiful, and the sea is stunning. However, the coral reefs we visited were noticeably bleached, though there were still some colorful fish to see. One concerning aspect is that the crew continues the outdated and harmful practice of feeding the fish to attract them to the boat—completely unnecessary and bad for the marine ecosystem. I also had the impression that the boat could easily damage the coral due to poor navigation near sensitive reef areas. In summary: if you’re looking for beautiful views and some marine life, you might enjoy it. But if you care about reef preservation, sustainable tourism, and avoiding constant solicitation, I wouldn’t...
Read moreDiscriminatory and Disappointing Sea Boat Experience
I was excited to take part in the sea boat excursion during my vacation, but unfortunately, it turned out to be an extremely disappointing experience.
From the beginning, it was clear that local residents were treated very differently from tourists. Non-local guests received noticeably better service—priority seating, more attention from staff, and an overall welcoming attitude. In contrast, locals were ignored, spoken to curtly, and made to feel unwelcome. This discriminatory behavior was not subtle—it was blatant and deeply disheartening.
As a paying customer, I expected equal treatment and basic professionalism. What I experienced instead was bias and poor service. Discrimination has no place in hospitality, and this kind of conduct damages the reputation of any business involved.
I do not recommend this boat tour, especially for local residents. Management needs to address this issue seriously and train their staff in customer service and...
