Please consider this review before dining here. I am not usually someone who complains but I would urge larger parties to read this review. We are a large family of 12 who had no intention of dining here, but as we were walking past the manager of the restaurant offered a 10% discount (which was already an offer they had going on) plus a further special discount, then ushered us in telling us they can accommodate us. They set up a table for us, including 3 babies which offered high chairs which was great however, it all went downhill from there. We were seated around 7:30pm and it was a busy atmosphere. I appreciate we were a large family of 12, including 3 kids.
The waiter who served us seemed uninterested in serving us, like it was a chore to even be there. He took our appetiser and drinks order around 7:40pm, our drinks came quite fast. After about 40 minutes of waiting for our starters, we were asking how long they would be and the waiters all just told us to be patient and not rush, because it is ‘busy’. They said it will be a few minutes. About another 30 minutes later, the kids dinner of just chicken nuggets and chips came out, and the adults starters came out about 25 minutes later after this.
By this point the kids were too tired to eat. Adults starters came out about 20 minutes after, one by one and they even forgot one of the adults starters.. We demolished our starters and the waiter started clearing away the dishes. My dad gave his knife and fork back and the waiter said for him to keep it and use it for the mains ‘to make things easier’ as it was busy? He handed the dirty cutlery back to my dad. His answer to most questions were ‘yeah yeah yeah’ and was so dismissive. My sister had to intervene and ask for clean cutlery and the waiter seemed extremely short and annoyed by this. Please note, we mostly ordered noodles so it wasnt the case of us ordering extremely complex dishes!
About 30 minutes later, my sister enquired when our main dishes will be out and again was told a few minutes, yet our mains came out way after 10:20pm. At this point we weren’t even hungry, the kids were exhausted and by this point many people had come and gone. There were a few tables that came after us and had even gotten their food before us and had left. My sisters main dish was forgotten again, which she had to wait longer whilst the rest of us tucked in to our meals.
The service here was terrible, which was a shame considering the food was nice. The staff were not patient, seemed very annoyed at us for enquiring how long the food would be considering we were seated at 7:30pm and we left the restaurant at almost 11:00pm. By the time the mains came there were literally like 7 people in the restaurant, and the service was still SO slow.
We ate our mains so quickly once they arrived as the kids were extremely tired and when it came to payment the manager only added the 10% offer they already had going on and completely excused what was agreed initially! There were a few staff in particular that were terrible, but some were ok. One or two waiters came out of the restaurant and apologised to my brother when he was having a smoke for the terrible service and agreed it was embarrassing what was going on.
To the managers of this restaurant, please do not convince people to eat at this restaurant during your ‘busy’ times if you cannot accommodate them. You also need to train your employees to have more patience as WE are the customers....
Read moreI went to the restaurant with my family on 30 July and again on 31 July 2023 😀 30 July: We had shrimps tempura, dim sum, sushi platter (12 pcs), spring rolls and Tom Yum soup as starters. As the main course I had crab, my wife and kid shared lobster. Personally I loved the crab and ordered more after finishing the first 3 (small) crabs. The tom yum was tastefull and good portion. In fact all starters were good and exactly in line with the description on the menu. The lobster was a bit small, but the taste was very nice. 31 July: I reordered the tom yum (delicious again). My wife had the lamb soup (rated: 7) and my kid had the crab stick sushi (rated: 10) and wong ton (my kid did not like them, but my wife and I were happy to help finish the plate (😀). As main course my kid had the chicken cordon blue. There was plenty of cheese (👍) but it was a bit moisturous. As main course I had the crab again (I rated the crab with a 9) and also ordered the grilled chicken (excellent and cooked spicy on my request. My wife had the whole peking duck with pancakes. The pancakes were served almost 10 mins after the duck. The duck was good, but we frequently visit china town in cities in Holland and you can not really compare it to be honest. The duck was not too big and parts were too crispy and also the skin was not very good. It was not cooked in tradiotional style and it could be that the poor thing was deep fried. The beer (heineken) was not cold, but the waiter repaired this by putting some bottles in the freezer The service on both days was excellent (a 10👍👍) and the waiters were funny, friendly, nice and thoughtfull. It was a very nice experiences, and if we go back to Hurghada in future, Red Dragon will be on our "must do list". The restaurant is located in the marina and this area is very very nice and has...
Read moreWe ate at the fine establishment next door and when walking past the Red Dragon the manager there approached us and offered us a 10% off card for when we ate there, we explained that we had all ready eaten and we walked away with the card for the next time we were at the Marina.
A few days later we were back at the Marina with a group of 10 people and we decided to eat there unfortunately.
We ordered our drinks but we realised the ice cubes were not made from mineral water or filtered water? How is this even acceptable in the Marina with the prices they charge at these so called posh area. Having ice like this will upset your stomach.
We all ordered our food and had to wait around an hour which we didn't mind as we were a big group. When our food came I ordered a mixed grill and my wife ordered a stir fry. From my mixed grill the chicken smelled very old and the chicken tasted off so I only ate some of my mixed grill and my had only half of her stir fry, as I was still hungry I finished off my wife's stir fry. Everyone's food was very mediocre.
A few hours later both me and my wife started to get stomach cramps and diarrhoea. We have both been food poisoned and unwell for the past 2 days.
We were ready to pay and had asked for our bill, our bill came up to 2495 Egyptian Pounds. We asked for the card machine that is when the waiter told us that it wasn't working and we need to pay with cash. Why did they not inform us of this before we sat down to eat? I spoke to the manager and told him I only had cards with me. The manager took me to 2 other restaurants to use their card machine to pay my bill at the end they didn't give us our 10% discount they promised us.
A very disappointing experience. NEVER AGIAN WILL WE VISIT AND OTHER BECAREFULL...
