Cognac MEUKOW — Attraction in Cognac

I had only time to visit one distillery and I was somewhat drawn to Meukow's logo without having much knowledge about its Cognac. It turned out to be a briliant decision. Space was kept in a minimalistic passion and makes people to appreciate the ship-like interior while having exhibition space around the wall. It turned out the tour time was a bit late for me but Sarka who was most friendly from the moment I entered the space really tried hard to accommodate me by even trying to move the tour time earlier. I still couldn't but then she offered the tasting where she pretty much gave me a full scope of the history of its distillery and felt like I was missing anything. Being an underdog in the industry it kinda gave me a similar vibe I got from visiting those single malt whisky distilleries in Scotland that may not be well-known compared to mega-commercilized players but has its charm and quality created by devoted members of it. We went for the tour here today followed by lunch in the restaurant as a treat for my husbands birthday and all I can say is that we had a truly enjoyable experience from start to finish! The tour was very special and really encapsulated the Meukow experience. The restaurant was delightful and the chef was very attentive and he provided a wonderful experience of taste sensation after taste sensation. He explained all the components if the dishes and answered my questions about how he'd cooked certain vegetables; for me as a real foodie this added to the whole experience.
