Antibes — Attraction in Grasse

Edit 7 years later. Was there october 22 and now it was a little bit better. I like it. Nothing to worry about. Take the train from the airport, its easy now. Its a good station for being in france.

No working elevator made this a shaity playce to traverse with a wheeled person.

Edit 3 years later: Ive been to this railway station a few times more now. It is in easy walking distance to old Antibes. The elevator is still just as unreliable. The alternative route is via the road north and it would easily take another 10 minutes. This problem arises often because the bus station is on the other side of the track. The toilet is an ok 50p experience, but tjere is only one and when it is damaged there is no one there to fix it and you have a problem. There is no place nesr by either so just hope the train isnt far away. There is a nice coffe kiosk and anice magazine kiosk (with only french translated magazines). The ticketingmachines are ok. The staff in the ticket hall are friendly and helpful, but not all talk english is my impression, I could be wrong. The markings of tracks in this station is mysterious at best, so ask someone if unsure. There is an elevator to get to the mid track that seems to work all the time.

But its worth it to...

It is near to the center and a basic one. It has stairs at left of exit where you can reach easly to the other side of the city. You easily reach to the hard of the city like Port Vauban and old city by walking. It has free wifi also. You can have snaks and beverages inside.You are not allowed to sit cafe inside without buying something. But it is not user friendly gar because of unclear platforms. You don't understand which is outbound and in bound platforms. Same numbers at the apposite platforms. There was a lady in her middle ages who is not kindly answering you at the information desk. Hot inside in August no air condition. You have to pay for the toilet. You can find cheap tickets around like Cannes. It takes 5 min to there. Validate your tickets at the doors to the platforms. It might be hard to use the machines to buy tickets if you do not know how to. Be carefull to use credit card otherwise it might not be excepted.There is an elevator working but...

Sans jeu de mot aujourd'hui c'est la goutte d'eau.... impossible d'emprunter le passage souterrain, le quai est inaccessible pas de visibilité sur quand nous pourrons acceder au train. Le train passe, seul les passagers ayant traverser les voies sauvagement peuvent le prendre Outre cet évènement Le nettoyage consiste à envoyer les déchets sur la voie. On me dit qu'il y a un nettoyage des voies sans grande conviction... mais admettons, je ne suis pas sur qu'il s'agissent du meilleur exemple ni de la méthode la plus propre. il ne faut pas rater l'unique machine pour valider son titre de transport qui fonctionne... mais n'oublions pas que cela est obligatoire. Armez vous de patience si vous souhaitez achetez un titre de transport aux automates. Le personnel ne semble pas comprendre les clients. Quelqu'un dans la gare mais pas d'information ou de ticket c'est uniquement pour les PMR (vive la taylorisation), après tout c'est indiqué sur une affichette. Après une longue attente et un train qu'on ne peut pas prendre, "Allez y prenez le passage innonde puisque vous ne voulez pas attendre". Je pense avoir demander avec courtoisie le moment où nous pourrions passer ainsi que la raison de la fermeture, il me semblait justifier de pouvoir "anticiper" un retard sur mon lieu de travail Bref j'ai laissé un avis en gare et cet avis ici... Autrement en tant qu'usager régulier les trains antibes cagnes sont à l'heure la plupart du temps mais il me semble qu'il y a de quoi améliorer la gestion de la gare...
