2024 February 16th the Friday. Be careful the receptionist may attack you at his own will.
1st, the reception guy would not remember if you tell him that you deserve the ticket with reduced price. I went in when the museum just opened at 2pm. I told the guy that I am a student and showed my student card, but got dismissed aside because he said the museum does not accept card at the moment and I had to wait. When the card machine were back online, I went up and paid my ticket with card until later realized that he charged me with regular admission instead of student. I told him the mistake but he bluntly refused that I informed my status. You can pull the surveillance camera to check the deeds, and quite ironically I was one of the only two Asian female Asians in the line which apparently was super hard for him to remember.
2ndly, I did not raise my voice when I discussed my situation with him. All the customers behind me could testify. We all make mistakes and I totally understand that, as long as we correct the wrongs. However this guy started shouting persistently saying I did not mention I was a student, which apparently was false, and that tossed the receipt RIGHT INTO MY FACE. This is a brutal assault which can also be confirmed in the camera.
Lastly, during the conversation he started assault me with words when I claimed my rightful refund in peace and shouted again in both French and English that it was only 2 euros. This is not about how much the money is, and again I claimed my right charge in peace, no verbal assault is ever needed to solve the situation.
All in all, I will escalate this issue with the museum because this is pure physical and...
Read moreA must-visit for art lovers, especially if you’re a fan of Picasso. The Musée Picasso in Antibes is set inside the historic Château Grimaldi, with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. It’s a relatively small museum, but it holds a focused and powerful collection of Picasso’s work created during his stay here after World War II. Some of the pieces were made using recycled materials, due to the scarcity of supplies at the time, which adds a layer of depth and historical context.
The sculpture terrace is a highlight, with expressive works displayed against a beautiful sea backdrop. You’ll also find other artists represented, including contemporary works that add variety to the experience. The layout is clean and well-organized, and the building itself is full of character.
That said, there are a few downsides. The museum was extremely hot during our visit, with little to no air conditioning, even though it was 34°C outside. It made the experience uncomfortable and rushed, which is unfortunate for a cultural space where people want to take their time. In the summer, you may also have to queue outside in full sun, sometimes for more than 30 minutes, which could be better managed.
Staff are friendly, the space is accessible with elevators, and the facilities were clean. At €12 per ticket, it’s well priced for what you get.
Despite the heat and the wait, the museum is a gem for anyone interested in Picasso’s work, art history, or simply exploring something unique in a stunning location. With a few improvements, this could easily be a...
Read moreSadly 1/5 due to a complete lack of respect for tourists and thinking about the user experience. Be warned: the museum does not indicate on its website that it does not have luggage/suitcase storage. Such information should be clearly visible where opening hours, ticket prices are communicated. The second disadvantage: when waiting in front of the museum, in a very long queue, you will not find out that there is no cloakroom. There is only a small sign at the end of the queue, next to the staff member verifying the luggage. To the museum: If you don't manage to inform properly on the website, at least think about the people, and place the sign at the beginning of the queue. Why should visitors have to wait tens of minutes to find out they are not going to get in? Third disadvantage: the employee is not even able to tell you in which other place you can leave your suitcase. He advises going back to the train station (20 minutes on foot) and returning to the museum. And it would have been enough to write a warning on the website and the tourist would have immediately left the luggage at the...
