Wow! It's a pleasure to write my review about the Babalou Italian restaurant in the beautiful Montmarte area of Paris. The restaurant is very small and old, which only add to it's charm. There are outside tables available as well to be enjoyed during good weather. Now let me tell you about the food, are you ready? It's fantastic! I'm a glutton for punishment and always find myself regretful after ordering lasagna as most Italian restaurants. Not this time. This time I was overjoyed to finally have had a delicious, homemade tasting, fantastic plate of lasagna! I'm a picky eater and rarely finish a plate of food anywhere. This time was the exception. Not only did I finish it, but after giving my son a forkful of my lasagna, he also tried to get at my plate as he is also a fussy eater, but loved the lasagna as well. Bottom line, wonderful quaint little restaurant, exceptional food ( my husband had the veggie pizza and it was also amazingly delicious!), lovely and prompt service, I will return and encourage anyone who is visiting Paris to make a reservation and enjoy! Sidenote, it is a short, walking distance to the Sacré-Cœur church. After our beautiful meal we walked to the church and had an amazing view of Paris city lights and the Eiffel tower. Magic and to a magical day!

The pizzeria is conveniently located — just a stone’s throw from Sacré-Cœur. The pizza was prepared quickly, and the Italian Chianti was quite good. Upon request, they changed the sauce, and a green salad was served with the pizza — a pleasant surprise. However: — the waiter was not friendly and I saw him smoking on the terrace; — no carafe of water was brought, even though that’s usually automatic; — I tried to order a cappuccino, but they were out of milk; — the restroom had issues; — the terrace faces a road — so you end up inhaling exhaust fumes while seated. And the pizza itself… I ordered a calzone. Thin as a crêpe. A large part of it had no filling at all. With so little stuffing, it felt more like a pancake than a proper dish. Bottom line: quick service with a few nice touches, but not a place I’d return to.

With a stroke of luck, we landed at Babalou’s. We had the absolute perfect brick oven pizza! The sauce was perfection and sooo tasty, perfectly balanced. The prosciutto was top quality and the pizza undercarriage was cooked to perfection (not floppy). The cheese and salad on top was a great combo. This small place is run by people that care to present the best food. The tiramisu was also spot on. We wish we could have returned to a second experience at Babaou’s but will just have to guide others to this marvelous food experience. The prices are a great value.

Ok so me coming from a different country as a tourist was really excited to visit France and paris but didn't know how inhospitable the restaurants are We were treated so badly .The owner took one look at us and was disgusted and told he can't serve us food We didn't know that he owns the next shop as well We were quietly dining there .But he saw us there as well We ordered good 2 pastas and a dessert as it wasn't even lunch time .I don't know whose fault this is .We even got a look from waitress from the first shop They were laughing at us .what's wrong with people I don't know we travel countries to experience their culture and place But this is one of the experience that will always stick with me . We are all human We all want to be treated good .It's true to learn a particular language and culture if you visiting one's country but the wars were over long back and we are still on hating each other Well if you are visiting this place make sure you are french or White for...

This was literally the worst restaurant I've ever been in my whole life. The staff was rude, and not friendly at all. I went there with two friends, but I was the only one to have dinner, because they ate before we met, and the owner told us that we would have to take away the pizza, because only one person would eat there. So I pay for the food (wich was an extremely salty and not tasty at all pizza), for the atmosphere of the place and I couldn't even sit on a table to have my dinner on a rainy night? Right after we ordered, the waiter brought me the bill, and asked me to pay right away, so when the pizza arrived, we had to leave walking with the wet pizza box on hand. I've never been treated that way by any restaurant I've ever been, and I've ben in some very bad ones. I definetly DON'T recommend this place AT ALL. If there was an option to give 0...
