Passerelle Simone-de-Beauvoir — Attraction in Paris

While crossing the bridge I was really interested and impressed by the architecture of the structure, some referring to such a design as “aerodynamic”. It was a very nice experience crossing the bridge since it is actually out of tourists crowds, so it’s not as popular and therefore not as cramped as the other bridges crossing the Seine. Its a great bridge to take a romantic stroll or a leisurely walk, and is also a very nice place for a picture. Given that the bridge connects the Parc de Bercy to the Bibliotèque Nationals de France, its proximity to many well-known attractions makes it a prime location for those wanting to explore the beautiful city of Paris. Gets you from Bercy to the Bibliotheque National in a Jiffy. Offers a great view over the Seine, with ships passing under the bridge or making their turn here. La moderne passerelle "Simone de Beauvoir" est une vraie réussite architecturale, on ne se lasse pas d'y flâner, mais aussi tout simplement de la contempler depuis les rives de la Seine.

C'est une vague de bois déroutante au premier regard, chaude, presque rassurante au milieu de l'environnement urbain, mais aussi très aérienne, et élancée, qui permet aux piétons, vélocipédistes, rouleurs de patins ou encore de planches, de traverser au calme, loin des voitures, la Seine majestueuse. Son emplacement stratégique permet, par exemple, à l'universitaire fatigué d'une matinée de labeur dans les sous-sols glacials de la BNF, de revenir à la lumière, de profiter de la caresse du soleil et d'aller manger un pique-nique dans le parc de Bercy, avant de retourner à ses obscures occupations, non sans avoir profité des intéressantes perspectives qu'elle offre, tant d'un côté que de l'autre.

Ce pont modeste est pour moi le symbole d'un Paris résolument tourné vers l'avenir, à la fois utile, fonctionnel et respectueux des rythmes...
