Great food and fantastic atmosphere, just like a Steakhouse should be. Big chairs and meat forward menus with high ceilings and the feel of fire and heat from the kitchen.
The steaks are ordered by the 100 gm and that was a little confusing at first but when I asked our host, who I believe was also the manager helping out during an off week rush, he was more than happy to explain the starting amounts and the different expectations for each of the cuts. Very helpful.
The steaks were perfection. My son had, with a little coaxing a 400 gm filet that was cooked perfectly rare as he asked for with a great crust on the outside and a very pink inside. The very little bite that I tried was spectacular.
I like a little more fat in my meat so I requested the Ribeye and our host suggested the Australian which was a great choice. The Australian beef has a bit of a harder life and it is reflected in the meat with a more flavourful full mouth taste. I really enjoyed the steak from start to finish. It was cut a little funny with a thiner and thinker side, but the chef was able to overcome that and the steak was perfectly cooked medium rare through out and with that great crust that gives such a nice flavour.
The star for me was the burrata salad. It is extra hard to make something so perfect with so few ingredients. When those ingredients are so perfect on their own it is even harder. With just some oil, tomatoes, burrata and herbs this salad could have been a disaster if the balance of flavours were not in perfect harmony. But they were. Each flavour enhanced the next with the tart and sweet tomatoes bouncing off the cheese and the crisp sea salt and all of it warmed by the fresh herbs and olive oil. It took all my control not to like the plate.
We had complementary deserts that were also excellent, but the memory of that salad has completely erased my memory of the...
Read moreNow, let's address the elephant in the room - this dining disaster took place at the Marriott hotel. Now, we all know that the bar is not set particularly high when it comes to hotel dining experiences. But come on, Marriott, the bar doesn't have to be scraping the floor like this! I've had more exciting meals from the complimentary continental breakfast buffet.
Marriott, you've built a reputation for providing comfort and luxury, but this culinary catastrophe felt more like an episode of "Hotel Hell" than a high-end dining experience. I understand that not every dish can be a masterpiece, but I expected more than a flavorless steak and burnt carrots, even from a hotel establishment.
So, Marriott, let's raise that bar a notch or two, shall we? Your guests deserve better than lackluster steaks and charred veggies. It's time to step up your culinary game and offer a dining experience that doesn't leave your patrons running for the nearest fast food joint. After all, if you can provide cozy beds and a relaxing ambiance, surely you can muster up a decent meal.
In the meantime, my fellow travelers, I suggest exploring alternative dining options outside the confines of your Marriott hotel. Trust me, the culinary world is vast and full of delightful surprises, waiting to tantalize your taste buds. Don't let one disappointing meal tarnish your impression of the entire hospitality industry. Seek out the hidden gems, the local eateries that will leave you with a smile on your face and a satisfied belly.
Marriott, I have faith that you can do better. It's time to leave the lackluster steaks and burnt carrots behind and embark on a delicious culinary journey that will make your guests truly say, "This is the Marriott experience we've been...

We are guests of the hotel and came here to eat last night and were treated terribly.
There was open seating on the patio which we waited for at the ‘please wait here sign’, the seats were filled repeatedly by walk ups. When we approached the manager we were told there was no space - even when there was. We pushed to be seated and were. The manager was rude, no other way to call it.
We sat at our hard fought table only then be ignored for 15 minutes until we could flag down a server.
The server then told us the kitchen was closed 10 minutes before (we were waiting 45 minutes at this point). We asked if there were any options to get food from the lounge etc and were told no.
We sat to finish our beverages and then another group who was seated after us was brought food. A-lot of food. When we asked our server Anna (who ended up being wonderful) she was as confused as we were.
When we brought this to the night managers attention he brushed off a simple apology. Not his fault but the complete lack of accountability was disheartening.
As a group containing multiple Mariott Bonvoy Platinum Elite members this was a really poor performance from a...
