People praising this currywurst as the best in Berlin, so I had to try it. It looked like every other currywurst so I didn't take a picture. My main instinct was that it's such a simple dish, there's no much you can do to make it better.
My instincts were correct, but this does not mean I didn't enjoy myself. For less than 5€, you get a well fried juicy sausage smothered with their special sauce and plenty of curry blend. The person at the counter was also very kind and energetic and completed the experience!
The sauce itself is mildly special, basically a fruitier ketchup with a secret spice (which I suspect is garam masala or similar, but I don't know), and the Curry spice is just curry with cumin. Read moreFirst try of Currywurst, and not really knowing what to expect, was pleasantly surprised! Walked past here a few times and there was often a queue as well as a crowd of people sat along the wall outside. We called in one evening when it was quieter and managed to stand at the table inside.
The sausage itself was the highlight, for sure. Much better quality than I expected it to be. The sauce is more of a sweet curry, not particularly spicy hot, but tasty. Opted for chips with ours, which were less good, tasted a bit greasy, maybe because it was late in the day, and there was probably a bit too much mayo & ketchup on top.
