Upper Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Berlin

The interiors look modern , vibrant so well done for Berlin standards . The washrooms down stairs are worth a visit. The menu offers mostly for non vegetarian but has also options for vegetarians ( plant based burger , roasted cauliflower, baked camembert etc) . We tried the pork ribs and upper grill burger, a cheddar cheese soup and oreo milkshakes.

The milkshakes look stunning but kind of difficult to drink as the huge amount of whipped cream on top keeps flowing outwards from the glass if kept longer.

The burger from their kitchen is usually good , it came with cherry sauce which added a bit of tanginess.

The cheddar cheese soup was well presented but it wasn't warm enough.

Friday evening was busy leading to longer serving time.

Second visit within 2 weeks : The prices for some dishes went up, we tried the Upper Special Mix ( now available for one , without the two types of pommes ) and Upper truffle burger. Upper Grill & Bar delivered an exceptional fine dining experience from start to finish. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the ribs—perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor. We started with a delicious platter of fried onion rings, chicken nuggets, chicken legs, and roadster bread, which set the tone for an amazing evening. The cocktails were smooth and expertly crafted, complementing the meal beautifully.

A standout feature was their homemade sauces, adding an extra layer of depth to every bite. For dessert, we indulged in the apple strudel, a perfectly balanced sweet treat to end the meal. The staff went above and beyond for my friend’s birthday, accommodating my request for a small dessert cake, making the celebration even more special.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with excellent lighting that made for great photos. From the food to the service and ambiance, everything was top-notch. Kudos to Upper Grill & Bar for an unforgettable evening! Highly...

Since most of the reviews here look fake (a lot of people with one or 2 reviews below their belt, giving 5 stars), and because the prices looked pretty inexpensive for a steak place, I didn't hold out much hope this place would be any good. However, I was happily surprised. It's better than a blockhouse (but not as good as steakhaus marzahn). However, it is good! It has the feel of a nice modern American bar and grill, the food is cooked well, and the steaks are pretty nice. The menu is pretty no frills: steak, fries, a couple of sides. The crispy prawn starter was tasty, but had a little too much oil. The best fries we had were the sweet potato ones (the truffle ones were a sauce, not grated truffle and were a bit much after 1/2 a plate). The steak was well cooked and flavourful.

Wine, starter, steaks for 2 with sides, and tip was around €150.

One tip though: lose the country and Western :)
