I went to this restaurant super excited to have vegan dumplings. The food and my drink arrived real quick, but as I was taking my first sip, I noticed a big fly in it. As I work in a restaurant (and as nobody came to make sure I was doing fine...) i just removed it and told myself this stuff can happen. When my dumpling arrived, there was an eyelash on one of them. I told myself that it probably just fell off the waitress eyes (or the cook) a few seconds earlier. Dumplings were amazing! The soup was ok. I took another sip, and noticed another fly in my drink, a little one this time... my drink was almost full, and I decided I would tell them. I work in a restaurant, and I never complain. I know that it can happen, but 2 flies (plus an eyelash!) it’s too much. I waited and waited for someone to come and clean my table so I could talk to them, and the waitress only came when she saw me play with my wallet. So I took all the courage I needed (because I hate this kind of situation!!) and I told her about the flies. She went to the bar, told the other waitress, who I clearly saw rolled her eyes ! The waitress then came back to me, and she told me that flies love the sugar so that’s why they must have fell in my drink. I then started explaining that no, i received my drink with a big fly in it, it was already in my drink, and then she started saying to me that all our their drinks were fresh and homenade. « It never happened » and « why didn’t you say something? ». So, not only that they didn’t apologize (honestly, it was the only thing I really wanted, that and let them know so it don’t happen again!) but they charged it anyway. I felt like I just did something bad, and it was NOT the case at all! I just told the fact, and I felt like they didn’t believe me, that they didn’t care about their customers. I didn’t feel respected. If I would have been the waitress, I wouldn’t have debate with the customer. I would have apologized right away, and I would not have charged it. If I would have been a mean customer, I could have complained about the two flies AND the eyelash. Maybe I should have, considering how I was threat for being kind. The food was ok, but honestly, bad service. Im still...
Read moreMaybe nice if you come early, but our experience was not. We called ahead and asked how long their kitchen was open, they told us kitchen was open until around 22:00h and the restaurant until 22:30h. Sounded fine, we arrived at 21:40 and were greeted withe the phrase: kitchen closes in ten minutes! Restaurant was still quirky and full, we ordered quickly so they would have enough time to prepare our food. Food came within 10min, however it was clear from the dish, the kitchen stuff was already in home-going mood. The food was not very warm, my fried rice came in a clay pot, it was maybe steamed but not fried. I figured that usually it was fried in the pot. It was in a little basket with brand marks so I guess usually it was served hot, but my pot was not hot, I could easily touch it. The bun dish was okish, seemed a little thrown together and you could have counted the nuts. Best thing, we saw the kitchen staff leaving at ten sharp and at the same time music! was turned off! We had just started eating. It was very unpleasant to eat in this atmosphere and watching how they started putting the bills on people’s tables. We pay the same price, make a proper dish and change your official opening times if you start closing the place at ten. And by the way, CASH ONLY (call me when you arrived in...
Read moreI looked forward to the place given that its vegan and recommended by some friends. I came with literally no expectations except that it's gonna be vegan Vietnamese food which it was.
The food was simply not good. A meal is 9€ which is ok but given what you get (mostly noodles and soup) and the taste it was not worth even for 4€. The pho (number 8 or 9 with no curry and rice noodle) is just bland and not enjoyable. The starters were all straight disappointing from dim sum, fried ones (nr 1) and the sommer rolls. If I had to choose I'd go with the summer rolls. The dim sum that was recommended and in all the pictures tasted like being bought in an asian grocery store and heated up. The food that was somehow ok was the curry pho and the udon noodles where you dip sauce on top of it. But nothing was actually good or something that we would've come back for. Overall disappointing experience.
I can only explain the good rating through Tourist due to their prime location. But there are by far better vegan asian places in berlin (velvet leaf in West Berlin, moms creation or glory duck in East berlin...
