The Playce — Attraction in Berlin

Heute, gegen 11:44-12:00 Uhr, habe ich das Einkaufszentrum The Playce besucht. Als Touristin mit einem Baby benutzte ich die Toilette für Menschen mit Behinderung und ließ dort leider versehentlich meine Tasche liegen. Als ich meinen Fehler bemerkte, kehrte ich innerhalb von nur 5 Minuten zurück, nur um festzustellen, dass mein gesamtes Bargeld gestohlen worden war.

Meiner Beobachtung nach war die Person, die das Geld genommen hat, eine asiatische Frau in einer schwarzen Uniform, die auf der Etage -1 arbeitet. Sie war die Einzige, die mich die Toilette benutzen sah, und auch diejenige, die den Raum überprüfte, nachdem ich gegangen war. Ich meldete dies der Geschäftsleitung, und obwohl sie mir halfen, die Polizei zu rufen, ist diese nie erschienen.

Der enttäuschendste Teil dieser Erfahrung war die Reaktion des Sicherheitspersonals. Sie behaupteten, dass an diesem Morgen keine asiatische Frau in schwarzer Uniform dort gearbeitet habe – nur ein Mann. Das stimmt jedoch einfach nicht. Wenn sie keine Mitarbeiterin war, warum trug sie dann die gleiche Uniform wie die anderen Angestellten und kassierte Toilettengebühren von den Gästen? Es fühlte sich an, als würden sie versuchen, etwas zu vertuschen, weil eine ihrer eigenen Mitarbeiterinnen beteiligt ist. Sie weigerten sich, uns die Überwachungsaufnahmen zu zeigen, mit der Begründung, dass nur die Polizei dazu befugt sei (obwohl sie wissen, dass die Polizei nicht erscheinen wird). Sie hätten leicht die Schichtpläne überprüfen können, um die Mitarbeiterin zu identifizieren und zu ermitteln, aber sie boten keinerlei Unterstützung an.

Auch wenn ich verstehe, dass ich mein Geld wahrscheinlich nie zurückbekommen werde, möchte ich andere über die Ehrlichkeit des Personals hier warnen. Bitte seien Sie vorsichtig, wenn Sie das Einkaufszentrum The Playce besuchen.

---- ENGLISH VERSION FOR TOURISTS Today, around 11:44 AM to 12:00 PM, I visited The Playce shopping mall. As a tourist with a baby stroller, I used the disabled toilet and unfortunately left my bag there by mistake. When I realized my error, I returned within just 5 minutes, only to find that all my cash had been stolen.

From my observation, the person who took the money was an Asian woman (with a light makeup and black hair) in a black uniform who works on the -1 floor. (I guess she's Vietnamese, Thai or Chinese). She was the only person who knew that I used the toilet for disabled people and was also the one who checked the room after I left. I reported this to the management, and although they helped me call the police, they never showed up.

The most disappointing part of this experience was the response from the security staff. They claimed that no Asian woman in a black uniform had worked there that morning – only a man. However, that simply isn’t true. If she wasn’t an employee, why was she wearing the same uniform as the other staff and collecting toilet fees from guests? It felt like they were trying to cover something up because one of their own employees was involved. They refused to show us the surveillance footage, claiming that only the police were authorized to view it (even though they knew the police wouldn’t show up). They could have easily checked the shift schedules to identify and investigate the employee, but they offered no assistance.

Even though I understand that I will likely never get my money back, I want to warn others about the honesty of the staff here. Please be careful when visiting The Playce...

I recently visited The Playce at Potsdamer Platz and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed! The transformation of the Potsdamer Platz Arkaden into The Playce has been executed beautifully. The years of renovation were definitely worth the wait, as the mall now adds even more charm to Potsdamer Platz.

The new design and concept of The Playce is definitely modern and cohesive. It's easy to navigate and there are plenty of areas to sit and relax. The variety of shops is great, with some exciting new additions like the NBA store, Manifesto Market, KFC, and more. It's also great to see that some of the old favorites like TK Max and Caffe e Gelato are still here.

One of my favorite spots in The Playce was Gamestate, which was a lot of fun. The overall atmosphere of the mall is vibrant and inviting, making it a great place to hang out with friends or simply do some shopping.

All in all, I highly recommend a visit to The Playce at Potsdamer Platz. Whether you're looking to shop, eat, or play, there's something for everyone here. The new design and concept are a welcome addition to the area and I'm happy that the mall is back and...
