Museum für Abgüsse Klassischer Bildwerke München — Attraction in Munich

My review will be twofold. On "the one side", this is very interesting... well, let there be a museum, although it will not be entirely correct to call it that... There are a lot of different sculptures, some of which I did not expect to meet here. Then, when I read some signs, I realized that many exhibits were brought here for storage from other places. That's why I can not call this building a museum, and this is "the other side". It is more like a sculpture depot, before exhibiting them in other places, since almost 80% of them were scattered throughout the entire open space for visiting, and this is what I called at the beginning like a twofold review, as it was planned at home, and was already expected in Germany, on the way to this building, that it will be the museum in its classical sense. A couple of ways were closed, but we were able to walk around a lot and look at many exhibits in this place, and remain very pleased with the visit. Go and watch how and what you want. By the way, another oddity: we asked three or four times that there would be no problems later, but still, the entrance was absolutely free, which, according to the experience of two weeks in this country, seemed like a very strange...

Das Konzept des Museums erschloss sich meiner Gruppe und mir nicht. Die Ausstellung ist sehr stark exponatorientiert, auf Erklärungen wird in großen Teilen verzichtet. Die Strukturierung der Statuenpositionen war schwer bis garnicht nachvollziehbar. Die Statuen sind teilweise so nah aneinander gestellt, dass es kaum möglich ist, die einzelnen Statuen auf sich wirken zu lassen. Zudem gehen dadurch auch einzelne Statuen im Gesamtkonzept völlig unter. Auch das Gebäude an sich war für ein Museum, angefangen bei den nicht an der Antike orientierten Säulen an der Gebäudefront, seltsam aufgebaut. Wenn man dem Rundgang folgt, gelangt man auch in ein Kellergeschoss, bei dem man das Gefühl hat, dass einfach in einen beliebigen Flur noch ein Abguss an die Wand geklatscht wurde. Die oberen, auch noch zum Museum gehörenden Etagen(?), liegen praktisch auf dem Flur vor den Büros von Mitarbeitenden der Universität, was ebenfalls seltsam erscheint. Darüberhinaus sind die Spinde in einem düsteren, unbeleuchteten Kellerabgang, in welchem bei unserem Besuch auch noch Baumaterialien blockierend vor die Spinde gelegt worden waren. Beim Eintritt wurden wir darüberhinaus darauf hingewiesen, dass Gruppen eigentlich angemeldet werden müssten, eine Info die uns vorher nicht bekannt war und sich durch das außer unserer Gruppe vollständig unbesuchten Museums auch nicht erschloss. Insgesamt ergab die Komposition des Museums trotz einzelner beeindruckender Stücke für uns kein...
