Maritim Hotel Stuttgart — Attraction in Stuttgart

This place was the best hotel experience I've ever had. If Mariott is 4 stars, Maritim should be 5, and here are my reasons:

Maritim Hotel Stuttgart offers a unique approach to saving on energy and water. Even though many rich people and their jets are literally ruining the world so the little we do, probably does not matter all that much, it is important to save our planet in every little way possible. There is a saying in Turkish, "damlaya damlaya göl olur" which translates to "many mickle makes a muckle" (real translation is, "drop by drop it becomes a lake"). The electricity of the fridge is cut out and you can turn it on if you wish to use it. The toilets have a 2x button press, one press flushes water and the second stops it, so you are at least saving a few liters every time. The shower has buttons to change degrees of the water, and I truly enjoyed the fact that I could see the temperature of how much cold my body could endure. An important factor here as well, was that the water was always 38 Degrees ready, and did not need to warm up, which saves on water (something I have not seen in other places). And last but not least, you can put a bag on your door and show your support to these initiatives, as well as saying "I don't want room service/cleaning done, and thus save on energy and all that." Plus you get a secret gift each time you put this bag on your door!

Reception, especially my friend (so sorry I did not get his name) with the glasses, was outstanding and super helpful. They made sure I got all my parcels safely, and were always ready to have a chat or support you in any need. I thank all of them, especially on my early arrival and the quick solution they provided.

Breakfast lady makes the best eggs in the world. Really amazing staff all around.

The fridge, as seen in the photo, was enormous (I did not know that they provided a fridge and I think this should be added to their google amenities page.) So I was super happy when I saw that they had a mini(?) fridge in the room, ready to keep all my fresh food cold during my stay. The more stuff I added to the fridge, the more I thought, "there is no way this closes, right?" And yet, every, single, time, it closed with no problems. It was literally like Hermione's bag charm, but on a fridge. I am certain Maritim is using wizards to please guests as much as possible.

Rooms were also big and it was designed in such a way, that you could lay out all your items perfectly on the desks, use closets to your liking, and thus, offering a very organized way of storage. This is crucial because you can miss out on a charger, phone, or any other item sometimes if it is scattered all around the room, thanks to the rooms design, forgetting anything was minimized.

The location was also superb. As I only needed to walk 10 minutes to get to any train, which would take me to Sindelfingen or Böblingen or Vaihingen, or wherever. The city centre is also close by, with a 15 minute walk, you can reach almost all types of supermarkets and restaurants. Go nuts.

My only complaints would be the beds and the pillows. Pillows were insanely shallow, su much so, even when I was using 2 pillows stacked on top of each other, my head would fall on the bed, as the thickness of the down was not enough. I really suggest investing in some new pillows, or at least offering options to request more filled/higher as a room service. The bed was super hard, yet comfortable enough to get a good nights sleep. I still would prefer something softer, and maybe even tempur like. The bed felt as though it had no springs in it, it felt indeed quite stiff.

All in all, it was a so much better experience than the other few hotels I have stayed in, in Stuttgart and I really do hope to be back here, as nowhere else could make me feel like home, as much as this place has (except for the beds and pillows, Maritim please, if you are reading this please consider making a change) ps: also please add more leafy greens options to...

Tucked in a peaceful neighborhood near the University of Stuttgart, the Maritim Hotel Stuttgart quickly became our home away from home. Their warm, friendly, and efficient staff make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.

The rooms here are not just clean and comfortable; they're also generously sized, feeling like a personal sanctuary. However, it's important to note that some rooms require a 2-3 minute walk underneath the hotel to reach. If you have mobility issues, I'd recommend requesting a room in the main building for easier access.

If tranquility is what you seek, asking for a room facing the cemetery ensures a peaceful and quiet stay. The hotel also offers convenient parking in its own garage, at a cost of 21€ per day. Just remember to mention this during check-in, and they'll provide a new ticket for unlimited in-and-out privileges.

Their free WiFi is serviceable, it can have problems and not working every time but there's an option to upgrade for faster service. I don’t know how it works because we were out of hotel nearly all day long. Inside the rooms, you'll find thoughtful amenities like a tea kettle and mini-fridge. Spacey room and suites if you want space.

The hotel's proximity to the Berliner Platz tram stops is extremely convenient, and it's only a 15-minute walk to the vibrant Königstraße shopping street. Moreover, a well-stocked Rewe supermarket is merely a minute's walk away.

What about food and drink? Their breakfast buffet is delightful, complete with delicious coffee. The bar offers a fun atmosphere with average cocktails and, while the live music might not be to everyone's taste, it grows on you after a couple of beers. It's important to note that the bar can get busy on weekends and is closed on Sundays.

As for dinner, the hotel's restaurant serves tasty dishes, although it's a bit on the pricey side. So, if you're conscious about your dining budget, I'd recommend exploring other nearby restaurants that offer great food at more reasonable prices.

In all, the Maritim Hotel Stuttgart is a place we’ve come to appreciate and enjoy as a family for our city...

Our experience at Maritim Hotel Stuttgart was mixed — while some aspects were great, others unfortunately left a sour impression from the start.

The check-in process was a disaster. The staff member at the front desk, Mr. K——r (I’ll avoid using the full name), was not welcoming at all. When I handed him our passports, he returned them in a way that felt dismissive, almost throwing them on the counter — perhaps unintentionally, but still rude. He also placed two bottles of water in front of us without saying a word, and when I politely asked if they were complimentary, he laughed at me condescendingly and said, “Yes, for you and free” — which felt very unprofessional.

What made things worse was his constant insistence that our room would not accommodate us, despite me repeatedly explaining that we had multiple rooms (including a family room booked under my brother-in-law’s name) and would be staying together. He kept challenging that fact, which was inconvenient and frustrating. That whole check-in experience honestly impacted how we felt during the first part of our stay.

On a positive note, the room itself was very clean and well-maintained, although I did find a small black cockroach on the bed on the first night — I didn’t escalate the issue, just removed it and continued my sleep.

The room service was excellent. I was served by the same lady on two different occasions (on July 18 at 22:17 and July 20 at 16:36). I didn’t catch her name, but she was very professional, kind, and her English was great, making communication easy. I’m quite sure she was also the one taking the orders over the phone.

The checkout experience was smooth and pleasant. The lady at the desk was friendly, offered to email the invoice when I mentioned I preferred not to carry papers, and even asked if we needed help with a trolley as she noticed we had a lot of luggage — a completely different and refreshing experience compared to the check-in.

Overall, the hotel has potential and some great staff, but the check-in experience with Mr. K——r left a bad taste, and unfortunately, that alone heavily affected our...
