Stunning Beach & Not Too Crowded in October — Just Expect to Spend Money
My sister and I visited Mykonos in mid-October — the end of the tourist season for the island. The downside of this is that lots of places are closed at this time, but the upside is that you don't get the intolerable shoulder-to-shoulder crowds of 20-some-year-old women posing as if they're lingerie models while their boyfriends desperately try to snap Instagram-worthy photos they'll approve of.
I haven't been to the other beaches, so I can't compare Psarou to them, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. When we went, it was relatively quiet, not all the lounge chairs on the beach were taken, and there was a healthy mix of people of all ages (families with children, aspiring 20-some Insta influencers and just normal tourists looking for an idyllic place to get some sun).
The most important thing to remember: The lounge chairs ARE NOT free. Everything here has a fee. That's just how Mykonos is. The first place we tried charged 100 Euros for a pair of lounge chairs, so we kept shopping around and landed on Cavo Psarou, a beach bar/restaurant that provided lounge chairs for 25 Euros a pair, plus unpretentious service (which can be hard to find on the island at times). Drinks will be expensive no matter what beach you're on — expect to pay between 10 and 17 Euros for a cocktail.
Weather was PERFECT in October, bar-to-lounge-chair cocktail service was decent and we really enjoyed the view while getting a...

Nammos is the first at 120 euro for a set of beach chair and umbrella. Nammos is very chic and snobboish. Parking was valet at the hotel for $15 euro. We said pass on the 120 setup. Next to it is an area the has chairs and and umbrellas for 30 euro for the set. You could also put down a towel if you wished. Beware of the soliciting folks trying to sell stuff walking up and down the beach. Lock and keep watch on your stuff. Next to that you have an establishment called "be cool" restaurant which also has chairs and umbrella for 30 euro. Google maps shows it as "Charisma S.A". DO NOT EAT THERE. It is of the style of a cafeteria self serve like those you find at a truck stop. Prepared a long while ahead. Salads were stale, dressing was out by the eating area unregrigerated. Food like souvlaki has been sitting for a long while that need nuked in the microwave. Prices were that of an upscale establishment. This place was ghetto, and a bit disgusting in the food prep area. Tottaly not "be cool" as the the name said. Not too far down the path is another beach that is way better for your money. It is a 5 min walk called Plati Gialos( or Yialos) beach. There is also free street parking everywhere at...

It’s a beautiful beach protected from the wind by the hills to the north and west of the bay.
When you arrive you can either go straight on down the main road and try and find street parking by the cafes and shops (unlikely!), or turn right to Psarou beach and carry on down and pay €15 for valet parking underneath the Nammos Luxury Resort (which is what we did).
You can then walk through the (deserted) luxury shopping area and head for the beach.
The peppermint coloured umbrellas are €150/day for the set (😳), and the beautiful beach restaurants here will set you back a fair few hundred Euros for lunch... So only really for the rich and famous being ferried from the numerous luxury yachts moored in the bay
Or... Turn left and head for the public beach which will be €0 all day if you bring a towel.
Further on is the self-service restaurant and beach area - Cavo Psarou, which serves basic Greek fare for not so basic prices (Greek salad = €12).
The beach set here is €30/day which seems OK considering you get good service, and chilled music right next to the sea (with the same view as the millionaires next door)
Hope this...
