Such a great hotel and staff! The other reviews are true! The hospitality is top notch and felt more like a 5 star resort. Shortly before our trip Argo Hotel reached out to offer transfer service to and from the port/airport for an addtional fee. upon arrival the driver was waiting holding a sign with my name on it. We were transported in a comfortable air conditioned mini bus directly to the hotel where they took our bags to our room. We were greeted with fresh lemonde in our room. Such a nice touch and totally unexpected! The staff at the front desk are rockstars and will help to accomodate any request. Any thing I asked they made happen! They helped us to arrange transportation to Mykonos town after the first bus left for the morning, arranged in room massages from one of their local partners and arranged laundry from one of their local partners. We specifically picked to stay in Platis Giaolos because we pack only in carryon and there was a laundry service nearby, but sadly it was closed when we arrived. The staff at the front desk kindly arranged for our laundry to be picked up by one of their partners. Our clothes were washed, neatly folded and returned to us the next afternoon. Laundry service was 20 Euros per laundry bag provided by the hotel. The rooms were very clean and modern. Housekeeping provided service everyday and restocks 1 bottle of water per guest everyday. The beds were also quite comfortable and there was very minimal noise from outside or other guests. The only thing we found quite strange was the toilet was its own room with a frosted glass door, the shower was its own room with a frosted glass door and the sink was outside as part of the room. There we not many shelves or hooks to hang your belongings on so this made it quite difficult to change clothes without them falling on the foor or getting wet. The front desk provides you with a beach bag and towels for each guest to use at the pool or beach. Another nice touch! The bus stop to Fabrika is just a few steps away and there is a mini market right accross the street for any essentials you might need. Breakfast by the pool is delicious and provides a lot of options. Highly reccomend and will definitely stay here again when I go...
Read moreOur family of 12 stayed at Argo Hotel in July. We were picked up from the Airport by the owner Thanasis and he also transferred our family back to the airport when we left 8 days later. We loved our stay at Argo Hotel. We have stayed here in previous years and we will continue to do so on our return trips to Mykonos.||We celebrated my daughter’s 18th birthday at Avli Tou Thodori, Argo Hotel’s sister restaurant at the beachfront of Platis Gialos. The food, drinks and flow of the dinner went really well and all the dishes we ate was of high quality, fresh and delicious. The wait staff were also attentive and obliging with our requests. It could not have gone any better.||We cannot fault this hotel and their restaurant at all. I’ve listed below the top benefits of staying at Argo Hotel. ||• Thanasis and his sister Stavroula who own and manage the hotel are so welcoming, friendly and genuine. Nothing was too much trouble. Thanasis and Stavroula are both hands on and lead an amazing team of staff who were all so helpful, accommodating and lovely to deal with. ||• Rooms are stunning, spacious, modern and renovated. The rooms have a Mykonian island vibe which corresponds with the overall look and feel of this hotel.||• The breakfast provided would be the best we have come across in all the Greek island hotels we have stayed at over the past 25 years. There are so many options to choose from, all fresh, tasty, clean and generous. ||• The hotel amenities provided on site has greatly improved that you won’t need to go anywhere else. There are two swimming pools, pool beds and umbrellas, gymnasium, a bakery with amazing pastries, cakes, pies, pitas and so much more and a Yeeros shop both located on the hotel street front. ||• Avli Tou Thodori restaurant – would be the best restaurant we have eaten at in Mykonos.||• Beach chairs and umbrellas can be reserved at Platis Gialos Beach which is a two minute walk from Argo Hotel and located in front of their restaurant. The beach is beautiful, calm, clean and the water so cool and refreshing. ||There are many more positive things to note, too many to list but includes simple acts of genuine hospitality that make you feel at home. ||Thank you. We deeply appreciate...
Read moreBeautiful family run hotel with clean room, fantastic welcoming staff and an association with the delicious town bakery for breakfasts. Highly recommend.
I came in the off season with a pregnant wife for some winter sunshine. The airport pickup was already waiting for us despite landing 30 mins early and walking straight out of the airport. He was incredibly friendly and told us about what we were driving past on our way. The drive itself was only 10 minutes.
In the hotel the rooms were spacious, very clean and had all the amenities anyone could need. There was a wonderful waterfall shower, mini fridge, coffee machine and kettle, air con and a fan, large TV and a safe. The staff spoke excellent English (which did little to help us learn Greek but was very helpful)
There are 3 pools at least, two large ones and a kids paddling pool. A pool side bar and restaurant and plenty of loungers.
One of the best bits was their association with the next door bakery where you can go for a free breakfast with Greek yoghurt with fruits, grains, nuts and cereals, coffee is made fresh to order on a commercial espresso machine and there is a wide range of delicious pastries. Many of the locals use the bakery for breakfast and lunch and we can see why.
The surrounding countryside is as expected beautiful. From the hotel it is a 1 minute walk to the local beach with 5 other beaches all within 10-15 mins walk varying from secluded and quiet to party beaches. The famous Paradise beach is a 20 min walk along the beaches and across a small headland.
There are a number of beachside restaurants but O would highly recommend a short stroll up the hill to Nikos Gallop where we had our best meals and again we’re very well looked after.
There is a bus every hour that takes you to Mykonos town (takes about 10 minutes) and runs into the evening. It leaves from just outside the hotel.
The Argo really felt as though you were being welcomed into someone’s family home - the staff went out of their way to make sure we had a...
