The restaurant exudes a kind of timeless charm that feels both familiar and transportive. Set against a backdrop that could have been plucked straight from a sunlit Aegean village, the space immediately sets the tone for what is to come: a meal rooted in tradition but elevated with a quiet elegance. The scent of grilled lamb and lemon-tinged olive oil drifts through the air, and the rustic stone accents and soft glow of lanterns invite diners to settle in and stay a while. Each plate tells a story—whether it’s the briny pop of freshly opened oysters drizzled with a whisper of citrus, or the deeply comforting layers of moussaka that arrive at the table steaming, golden, and unapologetically rich.
What lingers just as much as the food, however, is the way you are treated while enjoying it. The servers, warm and unhurried, welcome you with the kind of generosity that feels less like restaurant protocol and more like being invited into a family home. They lean in to share recommendations with genuine enthusiasm, and their easy laughter ripples through the dining room, turning strangers at neighboring tables into something closer to companions. It’s this balance—the authenticity of the cuisine, the beauty of the setting, and the disarming kindness of those who serve it—that makes the experience so memorable. By the end of the evening, you leave not only well-fed, but also gently reminded of the pleasure of...
Read moreMore than just a Mykonos gem!
Arrived in Mykonos feeling chilly and famished. Checked into a beautiful hotel and decided to take a stroll nearby hoping to find a quick bite. After walking for 8-10mins ready to give up and return to my stay, I’ve finally chanced upon a humble looking local restaurant - Nikos Gallop without much expectations, but in the end gave me one of my best dining experience in Greece.
The moment I’ve stepped in, I was greeted by the wonderful smiles of their welcoming staff. Service was top-notch and the staff (especially Chris) were friendly, attentive and professional - patiently going through the menu with a foreigner like myself with clear explanation. I was being recommended with dishes such as fresh sea bream grilled, shrimp and red snapper linguine and pork steak, which were all cooked to perfection with great local flavors. Fish was fresh, moist and they would check with you if you wish for them to de-bone it for easy consumption, pasta was flavourful with generous portion of shrimps, and pork steak was cooked exceptionally well. In addition, prices are reasonable and the overall experience is worth every penny.
Nikos Gallop in Mykonos is a true example of how quality dining should be - fresh, simple, rustic, heartwarming food alongside with great services. Thank you for elevating my my Mykonos experience once again,...
Read moreI recently visited Nikos Gallop Restaurant on Mykonos Island, and it was an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. The seafood here is absolutely incredible, with the salt-baked branzino stealing the show. It's the best I've ever had—cooked to perfection, incredibly flavorful, and so tender that it practically melts in your mouth. If you appreciate fine seafood, this dish is a must-try.
Another standout was the crispy zucchini, which was light, crunchy, and wonderfully seasoned. It paired perfectly with the other dishes and was the ideal snack to start the meal. The rest of the menu offers a great variety of traditional Greek cuisine and seafood, and everything we tried was fresh and delicious.
The staff at Nikos Gallop are friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. They were always on hand to offer recommendations, refill drinks, and ensure that we had everything we needed for a delightful meal. The setting is also charming, with a relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for enjoying a leisurely dinner.
Overall, Nikos Gallop Restaurant is a gem on Mykonos Island, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for excellent seafood and warm hospitality. Whether you're a seafood enthusiast or just looking for a great place to dine, you won't be...
