I was actually really happy when I got here as it had a nice vibe.
However I really was put off by the service level. Was told off like a child when I sat on their chair to have my lunch after having a dip in the ocean. It’s kind of ridiculous to be upset about getting wet chairs at a beach club.
Maybe it’s racial related because another customer did not get told off.
Some items didn’t arrive as well and they were practically empty
Attached is the grumpy man who’s telling off people including his staff, I was the only customer. So I took my business to another restaurant.
Edit: so the restaurant responded, hence I thought it’s only right I responded back. It is only inconsiderate of me to leave the cushion wet if 1. I was told beforehand that I could not sit after going to the ocean when I have explicitly told your staff that we were going to the ocean and coming back.
The staff could have better attitude and manners when informing us about wetting the cushion. It’s rude and ill mannered to lecture your customer like a child. It’s simply unacceptable. Instead he just yanked the cushion under me and told me off. How can anyone find this action justified?
In most beach clubs, people use outdoor furniture and cushions. It’s ridiculous for me to know that your business choose to be cheap on furniture and did not use outdoor furniture. You could have easily informed us before we went to the ocean.
Instead of acknowledging it and improving on your standards, your management chose to double down and insinuated that the customer was inconsiderate first. It’s an accurate reflection of your service standards.
Also if my review was not objective you would not have gotten a 3 star for food and atmosphere. Maybe you have had good reviews because you don’t get many Asian tourists or they don’t choose to speak up against your bad behavior.
With all that said, they still did not serve all the items and forgotten them even when there was hardly any customers and restaurant chose not to address that. They also did not address the fact that their staff has been informed that we were going into the ocean. They also did not deny that other customers were not told off for doing the same.
Also the photo has been removed so you have no excuse to try to get this negative but factual review removed.
Shameful.
Edit 2: as the restaurant owner has written again and I think I need to respond because he’s painting a false picture. Instead of taking the feedback constructively, he has decided to pin the blame on the humiliated customer. Once again, he has not addressed the fact that they had lapses and did not bring all items ordered. He has also not addressed the fact that another Caucasian family sat on the cushions while being wet and was not told off.
If you don’t identify yourself as a beach establishment, why do you have sun beds and are charging 30 euros for 2 sun beds? What an outright liar.
While he tried to paint the a disgruntled customer as being unreasonable, I’m very happy to inform and advise all customers to walk a little further to your right when facing the beach. There is a great restaurant at the end of the beach on the right. I took my business there and had a great time. The food was so much better and so was the service. No surprise that the other restaurant has a higher google rating than Yialo Yialo. Click on my profile and you will see an extremely positive review of that competitor restaurant.
I spent the last week in Greece and had fantastic experience experiences in many restaurants, many which would be reviewed. Yialo Yialo was the only negative review I have given in Greece for the whole 7 days.
Let me also give you a piece of advice. If you have been given feedback and you were wrong, admit it and take the feedback constructively. Your attitude and not my review will ruin your business.
Edit 3: I’m not intimidated by your threats. It’s not defamation if my claims are true and they are. I’m going to continue with my factual review on every platform possible because of...
Read moreMy wife and I walked past the restaurant the previous day and it look like good food was served and nice setting on the beach. We decided to have a late lunch the next day. It was fairly quiet when we arrived (16h00) so we were helped immediately. We ordered drinks and that arrived very quickly and the waitron asking for our order as he dropped the drinks. We knew what we wanted so gave him the order. The food also arrived very quickly except for water we ordered. Within 10 minutes we were set. The shrimp salad was great and the tagliatelle Bolognese just okay. One person checked on us and offered another beer as he saw me finishing mine. He looked like a manager as he had no uniform (very friendly) Thereafter nothing. We wanted some coffee and my wife another glass of wine with something sweet. We tried getting attention but everyone was running around clearing and getting things ready for the evening. We eventually got up and went to the counter to pay. We were charged for the water that we never got. They said we can take it with us and we opted to get the bill fixed. The bill came back and they said the water was omitted. I paid without checking again and only later realized the bill was not corrected. A really nice place with nice menu and portions but felt neglected and not valued as a patron. We would probably have spent another €30 on top of the €63...
Read moreGreat restaurant in Platis Gialos. We had a mussaka and a salmon tartare salad, which were excellent. We also asked for pita bread to go with the starters (olive paste & olive oil with balsamic vinegar). The service and food are 5*, the price is similar to other restaurants around the beach. Our dinner was 32€ (we drank water). During these days, we have stayed at the umbrellas in front of the restaurant. It's 10€ per person, which they claim that it is the best price in the beach (although still very expensive IMO - but that's how it is in Mykonos). We have also had a ceasar salad (11€) for lunch and a chicken club sandwich (12€) at the umbrellas. The portions are big and you can share. During the day you can also buy food/drinks from the supermarket next door and have them at the sunbeds, as the owner of the restaurant is the same as the supermarket. At the umbrellas the service is excellent, all the guys are really helpful, especially Giovanni. They accept sunbed booking for the next days, which was really useful to guarantee a spot in the first line of sunbeds near the sea. Yialo Yialo is the place to be when in...
