I don't usually write bad reviews but due to volume of recent 5 star reviews I thought that I should provide some balance, given the experience we had. We chose this restaurant on the strength of those reviews but we suspect a lot of them must be fake. First off, the ambience is a bit weird. This is essentially just a hotel restaurant. It does have a great view, however the terrace was not even open on our visit and we all were seated inside in virtual darkness (bar one candle on the table). However, we’re not sure the reason why the terrace was closed so we would be prepared to let that slide as a one-off with us just being unlucky (we can only think that it was maybe because of the weather, although it was only overcast). But then we get to the food and the service. The menu reads well with lots of interesting dishes. We ordered the fried scallops and the prawns wrapped in fine pastry to start. The prawns arrived a full ten minutes before scallops; given that it takes two minutes to fry a scallop I am not even sure how this is possible. This meant the prawns were going cold, and the pastry going soggy while my partner waited for my dish to arrive. When the scallops finally arrived they were virtually inedible - they were strangely both overcooked and also lacking any caramelisation that you would expect from being fried. They were tough, grey, flabby and stringy and somehow both had grit in. I have never had a gritty scallop and they appeared to have been cleaned correctly, so the grit may have been transferred from the bottom plate which had sand etc “artfully” scattered over it. In fact, there was so much grit that I felt like I was biting down on sand for the rest of my meal. The prawns were OK but tasted like the oil they were fried in needed to be changed as it tasted old. To follow we had the beef tenderloin and the chicken spaghetti, which both arrived at roughly the same time and were cooked well. The beef was actually very tasty, cooked as per my order and nice and tender. The garnish was full of flavour and it was artfully plated. The spaghetti was ok, though it felt more of a weeknight meal made with Sunday leftovers than a restaurant dish. It would be pretty basic even for any of the numerous tavernas along the waterfront. The wine list was pretty extensive, however only the house was available by the glass. As I wanted white with my fish and red with my beef, this was my only choice, and both arrived at the same temperature, neither of which was correct. Having said all that, the service was friendly and attentive, and after the starters fail our server did amp up the charm to try to make up for our disatisfaction. In summary the restaurant is clearly positioning itself as the destination for fine dining in the area, but unfortunately the food, drink and ambiance all fell short of the mark. Head down to the waterfront and dine at one of the busy waterfront restaurants or take a taxi to town and visit one of the hundreds of...

Read moreLet me start by saying this: Phōs is a beautiful-looking restaurant. It's part of a luxury property and is the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful, upscale lunch in Mykonos. But unfortunately, my experience didn’t match the expectation—and that’s exactly why I’m leaving this honest, respectful review.
After finishing a spa treatment, I noticed guests dining at Phōs. The vibe looked right, so I went to their official website, checked the lunch hours, and saw that reservations were available. I even received a confirmation for my lunch booking. So I got ready, made my way over—only to be told the restaurant was closed.
Here's where it gets confusing: I clearly saw people eating before I booked, and when I showed up an hour later, I still saw someone being served food. So… was it closed? Just a quick apology and a “we’re closed,” despite my confirmed reservation in hand.
And look—I’m not leaving this review to bash the restaurant. Mykonos is not a budget destination. When travelers book things based on your website, we’re trusting your information is accurate. Some people take taxis to places like this, only to find out it’s closed—not because they showed up late, but because the info was wrong. That’s time, money, and energy wasted.
What truly disappointed me was being asked to remove my first review, when I was simply trying to offer helpful, honest feedback for fellow travelers. Transparency helps us all, and I genuinely hope Phōs takes this as constructive.
The space is beautiful. The experience? Missed opportunity. Please update your website, Google profile, and reservation system to reflect what’s actually available—because travelers deserve...
