Absolutely Appalling Experience - Worst Service Ever at Nammos Mykonos!
I had the misfortune of experiencing the most abysmal service at Nammos Mykonos, an experience that I would not wish upon anyone. I had a reservation for 5 PM for a party of four, which I had booked well in advance. Upon arrival, we were seated at the waiting area and told we would be accommodated as soon as possible. However, 30 minutes passed with no update. When I approached the hostess to remind her of our 5 PM reservation, she had the audacity to lie to my face, claiming our reservation was at 5:30 PM, despite the fact that I showed her my booking confirmation.
She promised us a table in 10 minutes, yet another 15 minutes passed with no word. When I finally went back to inquire, she told me our table was ready and directed us to sit. Just as we were about to settle in, another staff member, Efi, came charging at us, yelling in the most disrespectful manner I have ever encountered in any establishment. She demanded to know who had given us the table and barked at us to get up immediately, as if we were trespassing rather than guests who had reserved a table a month in advance.
When I expressed that I did not appreciate her tone and asked for some basic respect, she continued with her appalling attitude, showing no regard whatsoever for us as customers. It was as if she completely forgot that we were paying guests and instead treated us like we were begging for a favor. The level of arrogance and disregard for basic hospitality was simply shocking.
In an attempt to address the situation, I asked the hostess to call a manager. She walked off, and I noticed her speaking to a waiter, who then approached us 5 minutes later, pretending to be a manager. This so-called "floor manager" lacked even basic communication skills and struggled to understand plain English. When I asked for his contact card to verify his position, he claimed he didn’t carry one, which was laughable. It was clearly a pathetic stunt to cover up the incompetence of the staff at this restaurant, preventing us from escalating our complaint to the actual management.
I went back to the receptionist to get the names of the staff members responsible for this horrendous experience—Diana and Efi. Instead of Efi feeling any remorse for her disgraceful behavior, she doubled down on her rudeness and continued yelling at us as though we were the ones at fault.
This is not just a matter of poor service; it’s a complete lack of respect for the guests who choose to spend their time and money at this establishment. I would strongly urge anyone considering Nammos Mykonos to think twice. No amount of ambiance or reputation can make up for the sheer disdain and mistreatment we endured.
Nammos Mykonos, you should be ashamed of the way you treat your customers. I hope this review serves as a warning to others and a wake-up call to your management. This was, without a doubt, the worst experience I’ve ever had at any restaurant...
Read moreI am a busy professional and I rarely leave a review specially a negative one unless the situation really demands that. Few months ago we made a reservation for us at Nammos restaurant, this was even before we purchased our flight as everyone is familiar with how busy nammos gets in other locations . Two calls were made the day before to confirm our table, with special notes and we were assured that it’s being taken care of. After a long day of shopping in the village we arrived exactly at our reservation time. I wish I had read the reviews before, because I wouldn’t have been surprised to experience the utter amount of rudeness!! I don’t know how the owners of this place (which we know are of an extremely high standard) allow it !! The ladies at the reception did not greet us , we literally had to point out our reservation on the screen several times to convince them that it exists ! Another grumpy employee guided us to the bar to wait and I quote “for few moments”. When we arrived at the bar which was overcrowded and very busy, she looks at us the way you would eye-roll a nasty ex , points her finger and snarls in the rudest tone “ YOU wait here!!” . Being a well mannered civilized group of people we ignore that attitude and decide to wait for a few moments as we’re told. This was exactly at 4:03 pm , our reservation was at 4:00 pm , we we’re offered no drinks nor a menu ! Literally I had to wave to the bar tender and ask for a menu ! As soon as we ordered and before our drinks arrived we were asked to pay ! What a cheap move expected only at shabby pubs that are afraid we’d walk away without paying !! We waited in the 35 c hot sun, no AC, no chairs to sit, no apologies, absolutely nothing! 55 minutes passed, yes despite having a reservation made ages ago and confirmed twice the day before!! I literally had to argue with the ladies at the reception!! I never had to argue in a restaurant in my entire life !! Her excuse in a very rude tone was “we have a busy day , you have to wait !!” To which I responded “ and we are busy people who reserved a table a month ahead”!! We decided that we are way more valuable than to allow such rude and disgusting treatment from a shallow bunch of good for nothing kids & walked away with no regrets !! We went to another restaurant in which we were greeted personally by the managers and despite showing with no reservation were assigned to a beautiful table with a breath taking beach view. The only good thing about Nammos was that we walked away!! Reviews exist for a reason and I think the amount of the recent negative reviews this place is getting indicates a lot: avoid as if it’s the plague !! The millennial kids have no idea how to run an elegant beach restaurant , nor how to treat its customers and have no connection to Greece or it’s...

Dear Nammos Management,
I am writing to express my genuine disappointment with the treatment we received yesterday at Nammos Mykonos, a place we have loyally visited for over 20 years and once regarded as a true symbol of Greek hospitality, elegance, and effortless beachside luxury.
Despite being on the reservation list for sunbeds and a table at the beach, we were disrespected and made to feel like outsiders by your front desk staff. Repeated questioning, delays, and impersonal treatment marked what should have been a warm welcome. Our family, including my mother who was simply taking pictures while we waited, was treated with unnecessary scrutiny and dismissiveness. Only after a manager intervened were we finally admitted—a solution that came far too late.
The essence of Nammos is fading, and it’s deeply troubling.
What once felt like a celebration of Greek charm has been replaced by a cold, corporate experience driven by upselling and pressure. When we asked for a bottle of wine priced around €100—options clearly listed on the menu—we were told those were unavailable. Instead, we were aggressively steered toward bottles priced at €700, €1,000, or more. The same tactics were applied with food, sunbeds, and service: pushing the highest-priced items, while assigning us to inferior spaces despite paying premium rates.
This is not luxury—it’s a tourist trap. The music is uninspired, the staff is disengaged, and instead of feeling like valued guests, we were made to feel like we needed to justify our presence. When did Nammos stop being about the experience and start becoming about the receipt?
Let me be clear: I understand the evolution of businesses, and I know Nammos is no longer under Greek ownership. But the success of Nammos has always been rooted in the spirit of Greece—its warmth, generosity, and effortless hospitality. That is what drew the world to Nammos in the first place, not the presence of a Louis Vuitton store or a $2,000 bottle of wine.
Now, it seems you’re asking the Greek people to act like American sales agents, and frankly, that defeats the entire purpose. We, as Americans, come to Greece to escape that corporate pressure, to reconnect with simplicity, beauty, and human warmth. And right now, that magic is being lost.
I hope this message reaches upper management and serves as a wake-up call. The millions invested into this expansion are being undermined by the erosion of what made Nammos great in the first place. Please take action—restore the experience, protect your legacy, and bring back the soul of Nammos.
Sincerely, Victor Olivo Longtime Patron of Nammos Mykonos (20+ years) Advocate for Authentic...
