Arvanitia Walking Area — Attraction in Municipality of Nafplio

This is probably the most beautiful route in Nafplio, as it is all along the seafront and pedestrianized. The route takes about half an hour and ends at Arvanitia beach.

But the route has strong signs of abandonment by the competent authorities. There is a lot of rubbish and graffiti, there are no benches at all and at the point after the Nautical Club there is a large locked metal gate to prevent cars or motorbikes from passing through, but without any provision for pedestrians to pass through. On the beach side the path is blocked with a gate and there’s a warning sign about falling rocks, but you can bypass it by walking on the rocky side of the beach. On the town’s side there is also a gate but you can pass it from the side.

If you come here for a stroll be sure to bring drinking water and protection from the sun as there is almost no shade at all, only under the little cave-gateway and some trees close...

This would be a 100% wheelchair accessible walking path, but there are gates blocking the entrance on both sides. Other people just step down and walk around it, which we were able to do on the side below Palamidi fortress by going down a small trail and over the curb, but on the side near the harbor we had to stop and get some help lifting the wheelchair around the gate since it's a steep slope...
