Beautiful beach with crystal-clear waters and good facilities
Paralia Arvanitias is one of the best spots in Nafplio for a relaxing swim, sunbathing, or simply enjoying the view. The beach itself is a mix of small pebbles and sand, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and pine trees. The water here is incredibly clean, clear, and calm—perfect for swimming or just floating and soaking in the beauty of the surroundings. You can also snorkel near the rocks where the underwater visibility is excellent.
One of the best things about this beach is the beachfront restaurant, which serves really good food, coffee, drinks, and snacks. If you order something from the restaurant, you get free access to sunbeds and umbrellas, which makes a big difference especially on hot days. The service is friendly and efficient, and the view from the seating area is amazing—right on the water with a panoramic view of the sea.
There are also a cold water showers next to the changing cabins, and restrooms nearby, and everything is well maintained except the restrooms. It’s a small beach, so it can get crowded in peak season, but if you come earlier in the morning, it’s a peaceful and beautiful place to spend a few hours.
Whether you’re a tourist visiting Nafplio or a local looking for a convenient and picturesque spot to relax, Arvanitias Beach is definitely worth a visit. The combination of great swimming, good food, free sunbeds with service, and that unbeatable view makes this...

We visited after seeing the Venetian fortress, and what immediately caught our attention was the stunning, clear turquoise water. There’s a spacious parking area located just above the beach, which is super convenient. From there, a set of stairs leads you down to the beach and several beach cafés.
You can rent an umbrella at the cafés with a minimum consumption of €15. The view is absolutely breathtaking—the surrounding mountains, mirror-like water, and rocky backdrop create a scene straight out of a postcard.
If you don’t want to rent an umbrella, you can look for shade near the wall or bring your own. However, since the beach is quite rocky, you’ll need an umbrella pole that can handle impact.
The water is crystal clear, very warm, and perfect for swimming. Small children should stay in the shallow area right in front of the beach for safety.
If you have snorkeling gear, definitely bring it! Near the rocks, it feels like swimming in an aquarium—there are so many different species of fish, and they’re not afraid to come close. It’s surreal. You can also jump into the water from some of the rocks.
Facilities include toilets, cold water showers, and changing cabins.
This is definitely one of our favorite places in Nafplio and the entire...
Read moreI know why people give this beach negative reviews because it’s maybe not what you think of as a “Greek” beach. However, I thought it was wonderful. Spent a delightful few hours there is morning before the rains came down.
Yes, I’m here when it was quiet so virtually had the beach to ourselves. We came prepared as we knew the bar was closed but they appeared to be working on it.
Plenty of fish to spy in the sea too although you do need beach shoes because of the pebbles but that’s not unusual in Greece
For me, it was the perfect wee beach. I stayed five minutes in Myrtos Beach in Kefalonia, (a beach people say is a must do) mainly because it was jammed packed with folk.
Sometimes...
